Don’t believe any hype about what anything adds to a NA motor. If you look at the dyno you have to see an overall difference of about 10 hp to feel it in the “butt dyno” if you see something adds 15 hp look at the dyno and see where from 3,000-3,200 rpms there is a 15 hp gain and realize you can’t feel that. I will say I do like the TRD exhaust sound. I have read other posts saying it’s a yota branded borla. I’m gonna buy the muffler and get the exhaust rerouted for skid plate and have the exhaust chopped above axle.

When you guys talk about the "TRD exhaust" are you simply referring to the chrome tip? Or is there more to it than that?

I have the chrome tip on my OR, and to be honest, if the truck would run quieter without it, I'd take it off. Not that it's loud. But if it could be quieter, why not.

The TRD pro exhaust. Or if you buy the TRD exhaust at the parts counter. It’s a different muffler. You can tell if the truck has it from it’s deeper idle and the tip it comes with is more of an oval shape.

I put a Flowmaster Super 44 on for about $110. I’ll bet after it warms up it sounds a lot better than the TRD exhaust. Sometimes when a i coast after coming off the throttle at low speeds it gurgles nicely.

It doesn’t sound half bad when opened up either...plus OVtuned

I put on the TRD Pro exhaust on mine and love it. No complaints here. Sounds great.

My truck came with the TRD exhaust from the lot. Love the sound but hated the tip. Cut the tip off and then cut it to where it is dumped over the rear axle. Noticed it got a hair quieter once it was dumped. Got a different tip to try under the truck to see how it’ll sound but also welded an adapter to the tail pipe side that I cut so I can run it back out the back with the new tip. All said and done I doubt I would pay how much this exhaust retails for, I’d probably go with AFE instead. But who knows

That doesn’t help hahaha. I’ll be doing it myself so I needed the inlet outlet size.

Mite seem that way but I can’t ever leave exhaust alone so now I’ll have 2 options. It’ll probably stayed dumped over axle with tip but I can also go “stock” route if desired

Unfortunately a v6 will never be able to replicate that mean loping v8 at idle, my old 4.0 straight 6 jeep yj came close though, several people asked if I did a v8 swap and I only had a flowmaster in it

Man ain’t that the truth. But I will say my sister in laws jeep with 3.8 v6 sounds awesome v8ish at idle n low rpms then more v6 as rpms go up. Has headers and magnaflow setup no cats.

I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on a Trd exhaust in the very near future. Local dealer price matched the cheapest one I could find on the net. Very tempting.
