Same here... but my truck was almost brand new when I did it. If your bolts have been in there a while, they might be a little harder - but a breaker bar should still do it.

I know the original poster said the bolts come out with a T-55, but on my 2010 they seem to be way bigger. The biggest size I have is T-50 and it is not even close to big enough.
I didn't read through this whole thread, so sorry if it's been covered already, but does anyone know what size I need to get for the '10 model?

    Thanks

EDIT: Reading back a few pages, it looks like some of you with '10s did use the T-55. Weird, my T-50 looks about 3 sizes too small for the front bolts.

Read all 11 pages! Ordered 10 D rings from the army surplus and will buy the torx driver from local auto parts store and borrow their torque wrench (free).

Thanks to all who posted with great info.

wishing I would have gone with the army surplus d rings, the dealer ones don't lay flat and are completely stuck so ring only stays in one position. It's almost like they are painted stuck.

That's just the opposite of my D rings from army surplus, which I just got today. They are too loose and would probably rattle a whole lot if installed. I took one to the work bench and pinched the metal by pounding a chisel into loop to restrict the movement of the ring. That is the trick, I think. It now is pretty hard to move, but you can do it. Since I bought 10 D rings I have a couple to experiment with.

One more thought on your D rings. Can you put the ring part in a vise and grab the base part with a vise grip and move it back and forth until it's a little less stiff?

Got mine in 2 days ago. 3 small ones on the front rail and the other 2 small ones on the side and 2 factory ones on the sides in the back, these were all attached to the side rails. Also 4 of the large ones in the 4 front bed bolts, would of put some under the back two bolts but the bolts look way too short.

I didn't read this whole post, but I did read the first 5 pages, and no where on those first 5 pages did it mention that there are 2 sizes available. I apparently ordered the small, because the bolt doesn't fit the rings. FML. Paid over $7 shipping too for rings that I have no use for.
I know, my own fault for not reading the whole 11+ pages here, plus all of the other D-ring mod threads word for word, but doesn't that seem like something that should have been mentioned early on when talking about how great and perfect the rings are from this place?

Anyway, just a heads up for anyone else thinking of ordering these.
And by the way, the actual rings part on the so called 'small' ones are bigger than the stock rings, so not really 'small' by comparison.

All is not lost. The D rings I bought had a hole too small for the bed bolt to go through. I bought the Irwin UniBit and enlarged the hole to fit the bolt. Piece of cake.

Aerocooper use the ones you bought behind the bed rails, so you can use them to tie a tarp down.

That was my first thought, but I can see that on the ones I have, the head of the bolt is too big and wouldn't allow it to tighten properly.

The ones with the bigger holes in them weren't around when this thread was started. Just ream the holes out. There are many members who have used them without any issues.

There are so many threads because everyone starts their own instead of searching for one.

Here is the D ring I bought mounted in the bed. You'll see 3 marks where I pounded a chisel into it so it wouldn't rattle.

Here is the same D ring mounted under the channel:

Well I'll be damned...that's definitely the ones I got, and when I was holding the removed bed bolt up to the D-ring it looked as if the bolt head would not make it past the bump on the D-ring where you used a chisel on.
I guess I'll have to have another go at it.
Thanks a lot for the pics, they have inspired me that this may work out after all.
