2017 Tacoma Double Cab Off Road Short Bed

Hello fellow truckers,

I just bought myself a 2017 Blazing Blue Tacoma 4X4 Off Road and I love it. I added on shiny new chrome step rails and a foldable Tonneau cover. It runs and looks great.

It is a Double Cab so it does have a short bed, 81” L x 53” W and 42” between the wheel wells, which is surprisingly small.

I can’t seem to find a solid riding mower for my property that’ll fit in the back of the truck and I don’t want to put a trailer on the property.

Anyone else having the same issue finding a new riding mower that’ll fit?

My 42” Husqvarna fits between the wheel wells. It is not a zero turn, just a tractor type riding mower. It’s a tight fit, but with plastic side chute lifted up it goes in.

Edit: My truck is a second gen. I’m not sure if the bed width changed between 2nd and 3rd gens.

I hate to share bad news but I was looking at the Husq. 42” yesterday but it’s discontinued. That was the only option I could find that will fit in the back of my truck.
Do the back wheels sit on the tailgate?

 

I think they would on a short bed. I have an access cab long bed and I can close my tailgate with the mower in the bed.
