The doctors work for us, but they will always try to strong arm us if we let them. If one won't do it, fire him and hire one that will. Doctors want the business. I know several guys personally that never needed any signing of anything. This is interesting how there may different medical practices across the coutry.

To me, if you can't accept having a child, then wrap it up.

I also feel that if you get an abortion, you should be forced to have your tubes tied.

Appreciate your input. People asked for womens input, but the couple of us who have answered didn't get much of a response. :pccoffee:

So at what point in a relationship is it appropriate for a person to bring up their pro-life/pro-choice views?

My bf and I talked about it like the 1st week we started seeing each other and it's been brought up a few times throughout our relationship just to reaffirm the feelings are still the same.

I've asked several docs over the past 10yrs and every one of them have refused to give me any form of long term birth control or permanent birth control. I haven't had a period in 9 years, but they still won't give me a tubal ligation. Why, cause I'm under 30 and don't have any kids!
It is much easier for a man to get snipped than a female, but why?? I should be allowed to make the choice for myself.

Seems to be more about the discretion of the doc and the state you live in.
I was married and we were refused permanent birth control. My current bf (long term) and I don't plan on ever getting married and we agree we aren't going to have children, but they won't give me long term or permanent birth control. I've known for 20+ years that I didn't want to have kids and my mind has never changed.
A male co-worker of his just got snipped a few months ago, he is not married and has no kids. The only stipulation for him was age, over 30yrs so he got it done right after his birthday.

If they would make it easier for women, especially the younger ones, it would decrease the amount of unwanted pregnancies and abortions.

this is so wrong of the doctors. IMO this is more of an infringement on pro-choice than abortion. If you are paying the bill and are a competant adult, then they should not be able to tell you when you are ready. This stuff makes me mad at doctors. The under 30 no kid rule is one they made up and they should not be able to do that.

After I had my second baby, we agreed, no more kids and we both had to sign papers that it was what we wanted and they wouldn't do a reversal if we changed our minds. I was 22 and he was 25. I wanted to get snipped, but the doc said no - have him get it done. They mentioned something about hospital time / recovery time - darn military doc's anyway

I think they want people to wait - you'll change your mind when you turn 30. But, if someone has not changed their mind in say 2 years, then they should go ahead and be allowed to have the procedure. It's not like you had a fight with your SO and decided to do it to piss the other one off and two months later wanted it reversed.

Im Pro-Life, i say that because i think you should rap it if you dont wanna have a kid, and i think just because you weren't responsible enough to rap it the baby shouldnt have to die. If you really dont want the baby you should put it up for adoption, there are plenty of people wating to adopt. The only exception for me is if the girl is raped then it should be up to her.

only the HEALTHY ones. No one wants the crack babies or the ones with fetal alcohol syndrome.... Those are the ones who end up going from foster home to foster home....

Yep. Not only that but it costs thousands a year to be kept on "the list" at decent adoption agencies. I know couples that have been waiting for 10 years. They've paid $ 30,000.00 just to be considered. By that time they could have gotten one from overseas.

Pro-life is the only choise! Everyone wants to do what they want , were are the rights of the unborn? We all know it`s a human baby, not a dog / cat / or anything else!! There are lot`s of methods of birth control , people should start doing a better job , being responcible for their actions!! If you a pro-choise , and you don`t like pro-life people telling you what to do and you want you freedom and rights, , then tax dallors shouldn`t help fund it , becuase now you stepping on my pro-life rights!! Murder is murder!! how ever you want to look at it!!
