Looks great. Do you have bluestone anywhere else? Looks like it blends better with the original structure as is.

People have texted me asking where I am at money wise. I did all the work myself and am at about 15,000 dollars. Thats lifetime shingles and the higher end siding I had to match with the existing structure. Hope this helps people.

Just finished siding my house last weekend. The only before picture I have is when I bought the place.

    And after tin and siding.

And then the reason why it got resided. This happened about 2 weeks after the tin roof was finished during a storm.

Gotcha. Can't tell from the other angle. Looked like it was all siding.

It’s whatever I picked off the land. Blue stone field stone, just interesting stones. I really am not a siding person but when I built the house it was all I could afford. So I wanted to at least break the front up and garage. Now I have to start collecting stone again or find a cultured stone to match. 1st world problems:)

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
That looks great, Kind of like my set up where the barn is bigger than the house!! How hard was the transition of the roof on the front between house and garage? That looks like a bitch.

It wasn't to bad, but I had my uncles help me with the roof since they've been tinning roofs for about 20 years now. But whoever built the garage on shoulda moved it forward about half a foot. There was a slight dip from the house to the garage that we hid pretty good spanning 2x4 across it. So unless you know what your looking for you cant see it.
Yeah I bought the house cause of the garage.

Got our lower level rec room/bar finished finally this past weekend...I didn't do the cabinets, because I found a local guy who charged me about what it would cost me in materials and I've never done cabinetry before so I figured why risk it. In the last pic, the trim and painting wasn't done, but you get the idea.

Thanks, yeah it made it a totally different room. Between that and removing the faux beams running across the ceiling, it feels way more open and light in there.

I started installing the kitchen cabinet boxes at the Ranch today

Outside we stripped the formwork from the lower garden planter 6" wall and from the inside of the 8" structural patio wall .

We left the formwork , wedged and wailed on the exterior of the patio wall for now as it will also act as our edge form for the patio slab that will be poured on top of the patio wall .

You can see better here what is going on with the patio . The rebar runs wild through the top of the patio wall , it will be bent down and tied into the patio slab rebar grid .

The area between the house foundation and the patio wall will be filled and compacted up to the top of the patio wall and to the bottom of the slab ledge we cast into the house foundation 7 months ago that is just above the black foundation coating .

We will tie an 18" x 18" grid of 15m (5/8") rebar for the slab and pour a 5" thick 32 mpa slab that will be clad in hydropressed porcelain tile

Doesn’t even look like the same room.

Those floors are incredible by the way. I’m assuming those are engineered hardwood floors because of the real wood pattern. Can’t beat the look of natural wood grain.

Thanks! The floors are not engineered actually - they're solid 3/4" red oak, #2 Common (for more character), 4" width stained in "Early American". Very happy with them...we added them in about 2,000 sq ft of the house.

This was our formal living room before and after the new floors:

And a close up of the floors while I was doing some trim work:

    Im jealous.
    Beautiful floors.

I just redid most of my house with the engineered woods (didn’t have the coin for the solid stuff)

I just started redoing my master bath and pulled off the trim so I could paint and install tile floors.

Behind the toilet trim is mold, not anything that can’t be cleaned up but I noticed the builder did not use the green wallboard behind the toilet and sink walls.

I do not want to rewallboard the wall but is there a product you guys know of that I can paint on the wall to provide better moisture resistance?
