10,000 miles on my 2017 2wd Sport. Noticed a strange "humming" noise when accelerating and would go away upon releasing the accelerator. Took to dealership for 10,000 mile service (still under warranty) and they discovered the locking differential needed to be replaced. It has now been over a week and they have said its having trouble retaining fluid....thoughts?

Sidenote - does anyone know the limitations on lemon law for vehicles?

I didn't think Sports or 2wd models had a locking rear diff?

I did not either but apparently they come with a different variation/type of one, per the dealership. I’m not sure.

The Sport comes with a completely different diff than the OR. The "locker" in the Sport is a brake-actuated, simulated LSD.

Thank you for the clarification. Guy at dealership told me something similar to this but I couldn’t hardly hear him.
Why would mine go out at 10k miles though??

I'm not sure what they were talking about on the locker wearing out front. Mechanically, that is an open diff. There is no clutch pack/helical gear set that could be experiencing additional wear. It sounds like you're experiencing the partial load diff whine that so many here have been hearing.

I hope them replacing it gets rid of the whine? It is quite loud at varying speeds.

I enjoyed the laugh from this; however, I am beginning to regret my decision of a 2WD Sport...I have already had the back bumper and trailer hitch also replaced from being rear ended the first week I owned it.

I know the feeling, I got rear ended when my truck was about 4 months old but the hitch took it like a tank
