Mat got back to me after a 2nd email.. Still waiting for the file to be sent.

 

The same logger (backbone of it, just different PIDs) will be used for our self tuning software on other toyotas. that's October

So, if you guys were to buy a windows device for the sole purpose of installing this tune (small is nice, cheap is better), what would you get?

I don't want to have to buy a full laptop.

 

WalMart has some really inexpensive new laptops.

 

I use this little cheap RCA w/ USB adapter just for the tune and keep it in the truck. Amazon and Walmart online have them for around the same price. I haven’t had any problems with it at all.

 

This is what I got for my dedicated tune laptop. It was $190.

Perhaps a little bit overpriced for what I need it for. But I can always use it as an "Offline" computer should the need or desire ever arise. I went in and deleted anything that I didn't think I would need or use. Then turned off all virus protection and defender. I only plug it in to the Surf board long enough to down load my tune file, then back off-line right away.

 

Do yo have an apple laptop? If so, bootcamp it. I have as well as several others, no issues.

I bought this tablet from Newegg. $150 bucks and it’s super portable. When snapped into the included keyboard it has two USB ports. It has flashed all the OV tunes as well as the TSB via techstream (without bricking my ECU). I keep it in a sleeve in my truck ready to go just in case i need To flash back to stock or 87 octane.

For you guys who DIY'd the TSB, what were your battery readings? It looks like on the PDF they want you to run a battery tender and maintain 13.5V.. I don't have a battery tender, and per my switchpros app my battery is currently at like 12.80-something (haven't driven at all today). I don't mind waiting for 1.05 but I'm interested in the TSB as well as 1.04R so I'm kind of curious as well... is there anything I can do to safely TSB? I have a small Anker jump-pack but I doubt that's going to do anything/help at all? Just kind of thinking out loud but any insight would be appreciated!

Never in the history of tune flashing has my voltage been above 12.8. You should be fine

 

Mine hovered around ~12.4, with a few drops to ~12.15
