What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Front end was raised 1" - just as planned and it leveled it out nicely, with slight rake for when I load my bed with hunting/fishing/camping gear. When replacing shocks, they replaced sway bar bushings. Truck feels like new/tight and so much better. New tires are unbelievably quite compared to the Toyo's (and those weren't that loud). Very happy with how it turned out.

 

Got any extra shots of your bed rack especially bed mounting points. Trying to figure out if I have to get the tool box kit or if I can rig it myself??

 

How do they fit?

 

Finished installing LED lights in the cab and license plate locations.
Headlight upgrade as $$$ allows.
Maybe pick up some take off from somewhere on the forum.

This past week added a sweet v8 4th gen to my garage. Really excited to have another 4Runner, especially full time 4wd.

 

Love it. Had a buddy who bought a new '03 AWD Limited V8 back in the day. He promptly put a TRD exhaust on it. Damn it sounded good.

Any info on when the timing belt was done last?

 

I’m real excited about it. The V8 feels perfect for the size of the 4Runner, lots of torque.

Timing belt was done with water pump at 82k miles. Currently sitting about 120k. Will probably need to be redone around 160ish just depending.

I’m going to be doing some routine maintenance this weekend/fluids/spark plugs.

Overall it’s been kept in good condition for being an 04, and has extensive maintenance records.

I’ve seen some lower mileage/later model year contenders but they’ve had zero record keeping or had mechanical issues.

Edit: my favorite part is 03-04 v8s don’t have the smog pump lol. Bummer the newer models have that thing hidden down under the intake manifold.

Haven’t posted in awhile...what I have done over the past few weeks? A.R.E. Line-X Shell (Craigslist), window tint, plasti-dip emblems, skid plate, & 2018 Tacoma rims w/ BFG K0’s. Next...white OEM grill!

 

Wash at 4 am before hot hot sun was up. Detail around 7:30 am when I could actually see.

Ive had it for about 2 years now, was a birthday present from an ex girlfriend lol im wanting to get a BPF grille eventually but its held up great! I re painted it with a gloss black after about a year though.

I know it hasn’t had a track record of being an issue on the 2tr but I figured it can only help. The foam filter was still pretty solid (44k miles).

With the hood open it’s loud as shit now tho lol

 

Thats bout when I changed mine. I dont notice anything. Ig was clean as a whistle!

 

Mine nvr had a cover. So I leave it off!
