Well the above photo shows the steps mounted with the brackets as designed. This photo is after I altered the brackets.

Would you post more pictures of the locations of the connection points to the frame? I'm really wanting to order the 4x innovations DOM sliders with the kickout soon. Also, do those sliders stick out farther from the cab than ususal, or is that normal. I even think the front(non-kickout portion) sticks out abnormally far? Am I wrong?

Looks like the tire and axle took the bulk of the impact.

    Yea looks that way..

Or it could have something to do with tires and axles not being made out of .25" thick 2" mild steel tubing..

    It's probably .125 wall, not .25. That'd be ridiculously T H I C C

not sliders. Those steps will bend the body if they take damage

I concur. I have these and they're great. However they're not bolt on and need to be welded.

lol yea messed that up a bit..

But regardless, the tensile strength of the slider is a bit more than the sidewall of a General Grabber.

New product idea. Sliders made out of recycled tires! Then you just bounce off obstacles. Pure genius.

Exactly! And that is why I referred to them as "steps."

My bad, I thought this was a slider thread.

I don't have pics of the welding points, but the three mounting points are welded directly to the frame. They stick out a bit further because I mounted them at a 6-7º angle vs. a 20º upward angle. This was done, in part, so my vertically challenged wife could use them to get in the rig. She liked my nerf bars, so I had to comprise. If you mount them at a higher angle, they won't stick out as far. You can also request shorter legs or can cut them to your desired length.
