Mods: Is this still a Tacoma?
Question, but how does one access the source code, compile and upload into the controller running the logic? What software and communication cable is needed to achieve this...

It's a Unix based system from what I've read, and I believe someone has gotten a file to dump through the USB port on a different forum, but that thread, and poster, went silent.

Have you used CarPlay before? As someone who had it in my previous vehicle for the last year (and never used it), I can tell you its garbage. So is Android Auto. Not worth the effort in my opinion.

Looking at the 2019 Sienna, which will have CarPlay, I wonder if that head unit would fit in the 2017.

    So, there's this

    and this

We might have a dog in this fight, and more motivation, now that Pandora integration is being removed.

I was just looking at this too. Sienna in the past has had the same headunit as a tacoma, appears to be same connectors on back. Different mounting bracket, but looks like probably same screw holes we could
Use out mounting bracket on a sienna radio. Will have to try to find a used one once they have been out for a while and try.
Do these radios have security codes? Do our trucks?
