Meh, I’ve decided it’s still good, the whine is only bad when idling and half the time I have music on, I will change it within the next year, but I need to do spark plugs and other stuff, plus I need to save up for AT tires next year. But I will keep it in mind to go denso.

Last day on this project, at least for a week or 2.

Hoping to do SOMETHING fun this weekend, besides work around the house.

Agreed...I had a lot of luck with a reman denso that I put in my highlander before I bought the tacoma. One thing I noticed however was it wasn't rebuilt completely straight....like it took me and my neighbor some finagling when adjusting the belt tensioner so keep that in mind (no issues once we got it right, occasional squeal on cold morning start ups but that is it). Drove the thing for about 10-20k?? after the install before trading it in for the truck, never a single problem with it.

Edit: This is also after having had an autozone alternator fail, same friend who helped with the install said they are hit or miss...mostly miss

@mach1man001 if you feel like visiting and seeing @Unchained 5150 and @fatfurious2, they will be stopping by my house on Saturday.
There is a mud bog going on down the road that day also. I'm going to see if those guys have the time to check it out.

I've got an AutoZone alt in my FJ. It literally goes out like clockwork every 2 years. Still have the Toyota one sitting in the garage waiting to be rebuilt. But lifetime warranty ftw.

On the plus side doing the alternator is really easy and only takes maybe 45 minutes from start to finish.
