I'm having real issues figuring out what size SCS wheels I need considering my 6 inch lift. I am staying with 17's. It's the backspacing that I can't figure out.

I've been doing a lot of research of backspacing and if you are willing to take some measurements we might be able to help.

Are you wanting your tires to sit flush or stick out? What size tires do you plan to run. Give the specs like 315/70/17, etc.

Have you done a Cab Mount Chop?

Check out tire size calculator and also offset calculator. Your offset will actually determine your backspacing if you know the width of the rim.

If they stick out a little, like they do now, that will be good. I have 315/70/17 tires. No cab mount chop. In the SCS wheels I want, my only 17" options are:
    17 X 8.5 | 4.30" BS | -10mm OS
    17 X 9 | 3.50" BS | -38mm OS

Do you know your current offset or backspacing and wheel width? If it's OEM, describe the wheel and maybe I can get the specs.

Also, FYI, if you're running an OEM rim let's assume your offset is around +20 (Toyota likes +25 and +15 mm offsets).

Assuming that +20mm offset on 7.5" wheels

-10 offset will move entire wheel and tire 1.2" further out than now.
-38 offset will move entire wheel and tire 2.3" further out.

Basically you can just google 38mm to inches (or any MM to Inches) and determine how much more that will move out the wheel. There is a catch, however, and that is rim width affects the offset, so that's when backspacing help shore up the info of where it will actually land.

This tool can help: Look up the offset Converter tab on the left to figure backspacing and offset based on wheel width.

Honestly it's a rather complicated business to guess at, but keep in mind you'll want to do the least amount of negative offset possible if you want to keep the wheels somewhat tucked close to the sides.

Do you have 35s now? I went with 3.75 BS on mine when I went to 35s, I was rubbing on the UCA severely.
