    Yeah.
SE is supposedly for "Super Enduro" and they have the same tread patterns as the XR line, but tougher casing and heavier. The XR line is their main line of tires, and they have the G series for "Gravity." As the numbers go up (XR2, XR3, XR4, XR5) the tread patterns get more aggressive, with the XR5 being the most aggressive. XR2 is more of a cross-country race tire. My favorite for my rocky terrain is the XR4, and it is what Trek puts on most of their trail bikes (Fuel, Remedy, Full Stache). If you ride more groomed hardpack, XR3 would give good enough traction and roll better. Team Issue is lighter, probably higher TPI casings. I typically run the XR4 Team Issues and don't seem to have a need for the heavier SE casing (running tubeless and am not slashing tires or sidewalls).

Everyone seems to love Maxxis, but I find that, for me, there is a dead spot as you lean over where you lose traction. Lean further and the side knobs bite, but that dead spot gets me on mild turns over loose stuff at speed (where you aren't really railing a berm), and I don't like how they break loose all of a sudden. This happens to me on Minions and the Rekons. The XR4's have been my go-to since they redesigned their tire line a few years back and seem to be more predictable.

I really like my trusty 661 full-face helmet. Who the hell pays over $100 for a full face? that's crazy

My hero, sounds like i will be spending some time looking at a XR3/XR4 combo for a rear/front setup for trails out here. You run that XR4 front and rear?

The only maxxis i've gotten the above feeling with is the High Roller 2, absolutely dreadful feeling tire. I just want to try something different from the DHF/Aggressor that everyone out here runs. The best tire i have ever used was the eThirteen TRSr and + tires, insane levels of grip and tough casings but they are slow rolling and heavy.

    Yeah.
I do run the XR4 both front and rear, but an XR3 on the rear would not be a bad choice depending on your terrain, especially if you are moving up to Plus sizes. I've never tried the Aggressor, but every time I try something new and go back to the XR4 I wonder why I even tried anything different. Considering ordering the 2.6" for the Remedy but need a few more rides on the 2.4's. And they are brand new, so maybe wait until I trash one.

I do. For one fit is super important as I’m in it a ton. If a 661 fit my head I’d consider it, but we didn’t connect.

It also doesn’t breath the best, which again, since I am in a fully a lot, is important to me.

    So call me crazy...

Same here, i have a carbon Leatt that fits awesome, breathes well, and is light for a Full Face. I dont tend to cheap out on brain buckets.

100% status here. Love it, but kinda wishing I had shelled out the money for the Aircraft for the beathability.

    Yeah.
I don't have a need for a full face all the time, so I went with the Bell Super 2 with the removable chin guard. It served me well on a trip to Colorado. Just picked up a new Bontrager lid with MIPS and the boa system, and it is the best-fitting helmet I have owned so far.

Next helmet i buy will be the new TLD Stage helmet, the fit is killer and it will blow you away at how light it is. I am almost to the point now that every ride deserves a full face and the idea of knocking my teeth out sounds shitty.

My "DD" helmet is the super 2, then super 3. I love it, but wished it breathed just a tad more. I sweat like a horse, so the absorbent forehead pads are nice. Until you stop for a breather, and press on the pads #gross

My FF is for *cue music* " Berms, Ruts, Jumps...HOT LAPS " on the big bike.

    Yeah.
LOL, yeah, my Super 2 doesn't have MIPS, the straps are all crusty and stiff, and it smells like I've been wearing it on my ass. It's also got a good dent in it. I can clean it up and use it as my FF, and figured I'd finally upgrade to a MIPS helmet.

Bell helmets always seem to fit my noggin the best, but the Super seems to migrate forward and back on my head a bit, and I can never get the straps to not rub my ears (might be better after I clean it up and wash stuff). I tried on the new Bontrager Rally and it fit great, and the straps have a plastic piece that spreads the straps around your ears a bit wider rather than coming to a harsh "V". It also doesn't seem to move around on my head at all when riding. Ventilation is meh, I didn't notice much difference between it and the Super. But the blue color almost matches my truck!

Yep, The Super 2/3 rotates pretty freely forward and back, and the straps are very chafing. I can actually rotate the helmet right off the back of my head with 1 finger despite having the straps tight. Took a pretty good humdinger of a crash headfirst into a boulder field and walked away unscathed, so it does it's job well though.

It's really solid. Doesn't look like it but this is about a 3' grass hill, bike hardly rocks at all.
