Exactly how I feel, and exactly what my other friends with Toyotas have experienced. We followed the same procedure when cleaning my radiator as we did a friend with the 3.4 and his truck now runs fine again. I did follow the procedure in those screenshots, and nothing improved

Bummer. Could be thermostat I guess. As long as u didn't get it in the red and it wasn't running noticably rough when it got hot, you probably didn't cook the head gasket. I'm super curious what it is tho

They have had the truck for about 4 hours and I just called and couldn't get any info, so my best guess is they haven't touched it yet. However, when I checked in they informed me that there is a recall on my blower motor, so 3rd gen guys might want to check to see if their trucks fall under that recall

Yeah. Pretty well known. I hinted at my blower motor feeling weak just to set the seed, to see if I was under the recall but nothing came of it.

Well they said everything is mechanically sound, the foreman said I flushed it correctly, and he recommended I replace the cap. Threw a new cap on there and it is WAY better. Not 100%, but I can drive with my ac on no problem, and it doesn't get hot unless I have the ac on and I'm climbing a steep hill

    THIS^^^^

When you think the radiator and condenser are clean, clean it some more. I went through 3 full bottles of simple green when this happened to me. DO NOT USE A PRESSURE SPRAYER TO CLEAN. Normal hose pressure without a nozzle. Rinse from bottom to top then top to bottom until all suds are gone. Keep doing this until you no longer overheat, then, stay out of the mud. If you must go through the mud, do it slowly without making a big splash.

So many people think mudding is cool, it's not. These trucks or any stock trucks are not built for mud. You'll notice that the true mud trucks have radiators in the bed or relocated to somewhere other than the front of the vehicle. There's a reason for this.

I frequent the mud and routinely idle for hours I'm Arizona heat. No issues.

Are you splashing through it like an idiot? Likely not since you haven't had any issues.

I'll be pulling the bumper off again this weekend to try that. After driving around more today, I sit around 230 at 75mph and am back to running hot on hills (it was cooler this afternoon than it is now, so that gave me false hope)

When I'm up to the frame in mud, I'm definitely not slowing down to avoid splashing haha.

My next best guess is the condenser is clogged, hindering airflow to the rad.

I have most of the front end taken apart/loosened so that I can just take a couple bolts off and pull my bumper tomorrow after work, fingers crossed this will be the last time

You were 100% correct. 2 more bottles of simple green later, she runs like a champ!
