they're usually relatively simple machines. Get a rebuild kit and basically just take the thing apart and replace all the stuff in the kit, clean it, and put it back together.

Mine was running shitty, so I cleaned the air filter. It was completely clogged.

Like I said, they're simple machines - not very many moving parts.

Of course, I say all this, and I have this tow motor thing for my trailer that I can't get to run, lol.

It's a 4hp B&S that's for moving aircraft. I have it to park my RV trailer. F-ing thing won't run. Was running like crap and the carb was getting pretty oxidized so I'm like what the hell, new carb is $15. Put it on - won't run. WTF...

I just haven't really had time to sit there and tear into it. Who knows, might be the wrong carb because the fuel bulb doesn't sound like its sucking fuel in...

well that was fun...security at our building just yelled over the PA system "EVERYONE OUT OF THE BUILDING NOW!"

we've had fire alarms go off before and had to evacuate but not a PA announcement, got my blood pumping

turned out to be a false fire alarm and I guess security decided to announce it since half of us ignore the fire alarm haha.

they aren't that frigile. If anything, out tacoma motors with 6 cylinders, timing chains, water pumps etc... are more fragile.

I've got a dirtbike, I can to jets. But these carbs are basically a hole with a butterfly valve. Not much to mess with.

    Right? lol

I might just try putting the old carb back on and at least see if it'll start again.

    You know about that eh?

I though we were the only ones that calibrated them in the field. It really sucks when you have a 125psi transducer going in a 1200' hole, then calibrate through its whole range.

Most other contractors we know just take the manufacturer's value as gospel.

Yes I know, I've changed mine. just a slip of the tongue.

It's good to see someone else being a hardass and getting all "technical"
