I would check you got the updated part and not the old flawed version. Mine arrived today, it took 3 weeks.

Lol, they called me again today to do my recall work as the worded it. I guess the part came in again.

I'll have to check my paperwork for the part number.

    PART # QTY
    MOTOR SUB-ASSY, BLOW 0400809104

Looks like I got the new one.

Driving around town I noticed as well that there's not much difference between S5 and S6 as far as mpg goes. Even up to 60mph. And S6 does less gear hunting at any speed whatsoever, as compared to D. But at interstate speeds (75mph) Id imagine S6 would be appreciably better on the flats with no wind.

You have nothing to gain by doing this. S modes will feel/remain the same whether you drive 5 miles in D or 50,000 miles in D.

And I'm with you, I'd rather drive with a few more rpm's than two few. For longevity of the transmission if for no other reason. There are times in D that the rpm's feel so low it just doesn't feel right (based on my 40 years of driving). I can only assume it's just fine. And that's just how these Atkinson cycle engines run. But I'm an old man.

It's that second OD. I don't care for it myself.
I should add its also the Toyota engineers overwhelming desire to make this as eco as possible, it happens in other gears besides 6th, but that's when I notice it the most.

Has anyone on here has the AC blower motor recall done? I wonder if it actually improves the AC because mine is not getting it done in this 100 plus heat.

I have noticed no difference and it was 90+ here today. If you mean the high ambient recall ( you gotta be more specific when talking recalls here man...) I have not had that done.

Good point about it being other gears, too. I notice it around town. Usually in a 35mph zone. Sometimes it's almost like the engine is idling.

There’s been a lot of talk about a regear on here..anyone recall seeing anything about putting the manual rear end in an auto? It has crossed my mind to find one in a junk yard and see if they would do an even trade for my auto rear end. Seems like just a little more gear in the rear would work wonders on a stock auto taco. Someone do it please!

    It's already been done.

You will have to search for it though, I forget the username of who did it.

Bummer. It just seems like the AC just doesn’t cool like it did even a few months ago, when it was even hotter.

I haven’t but I’ve only got 11k miles on it. Now that I think about it, maybe I need to because of wheeling......
