I'd have to say Platinums tend to hold value very well, a base model XLT is a different story

It was a damn dog. Asking wayyyy too much from it. Granted this is 100% my fault and not the trucks.

I tow weekly with my Taco, it does fine. Sometimes even through mountains.
You just need to keep it within the realm of realistic goals. I'm pretty sure a Fwhatever will tow it even better, but that's not even a debate.

LOL Look at the retail value and sales price! That's a great start right there. 20% difference.
Once again love when people have to compare a full size to a mid size. Inferiority maybe ???
Taco rules and you know it.

Great point here also. Impossible to want a Tacoma to have the off road capabilities with towing capacity as great as a full size.

For the price of a platinum, I could have my truck plus a tow rig and still be cheaper.

    Not asking me but...
Last Ford I had was an 89 ranger and it was great.
I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.

I imagine a new platinum is somewhat better though lol.

I had the FX4 2011 4 door. It was super nice. I owned a Focus in between, don't ask. Between the two. Honestly if it was just me the Taco for sure. Traveling with my wife or any extras the F-150.

Like stated before, all what you're gonna use the truck for. I figured I'd be doing heavy highway traveling, now I'm here scared to run through ditches on job sites. Two completely different perspectives.

The backseat scares me in the Taco. I've gotten used to having an extra truck behind my driver seat lol.

Ironically my only Toyota was the one vehicle I had that spent the most time at the dealer..

My 3.5 eco platinum gets insanely better fuel mileage than the taco.
