Any idea what that will cost? Also, has anyone dropped a Tundra crate engine in a 3rd gen?

Lol! Thanks I was proud of myself. Even told my Dad what this 33 year old just did, lol. I know my truck is worth at least $33k trade and $34-36k private party here (only 12k miles and immaculate). And like you mentioned, I just can't stomach bigger payments even for a badass new Jeep, plus I just am a Taco guy, keep coming back to them and in the end its just a vehicle, tired of payments and need to start being smarter with my money or gonna pay for it later in life.

Read up on the Rubicon. Front and Rear locking diff, sway bar disconnect, 33''s stock, etc. Stock for Stock it'll put a Tacoma to shame offroad.

I agree, but it's a bit less than the old 4.0, takes some getting used to especially before the TSB update.

I traded a 2014 Tundra TRD 4x4 Crewmax for a 2018 Tacoma DCSB OR. I'd honestly be happy in either truck. I don't regret my decision, but I probably wouldn't have regretted keeping the Tundra either.

Tundra pros: torque, reliability, tons of interior space (think child carseats and road trips)

Tundra cons: 13.9 mpg, small parking spaces at work, hated having a black truck

Tacoma pros: 19mpg, reliability, Cement color, slightly better aftermarket support, easier to park at work

Tacoma cons: under-powered engine resulting in a tranny that hunts for the optimal gear, fitting two carseats in the back can be a challenge.

If the Tacoma had an extra 30-40 ft/lbs of torque and an extra 2-3 inches of rear legroom, it would be the perfect truck.
