The hose we bought has one, I figure we're going to use it quite a bit over the winter. I really like it.

Where do you get your pellets?

And roughly how many bags do you go through in one winter?

I have 23 right now, and I'm debating picking up another ton. I figure it's better to have them and not need them then need them and not have them. Plus, I can't see why I wouldn't be able to use them again next year.

I have a leak in the return pipe for the hotwater baseboard, so there's no other heat in the house. I just haven't gotten around to fixing the gasket. Been too buys working on the garage and building furniture. I think I'll have to do it before I go back on nights.

I don't use it that much. I found that i didn't save any buying in volume, so just buy half a dozen bags when needed. If you are using as main heat when it's cold, its easy to burn a bag a day or so. I usually get 1.5 - 2 days a bag. I use it to make a warm spot in the rec room when its used (basement). its also my power outage backup, as I can run it off my generator.

I buy my pellets at Canadian Tire

Ah, I got ya, mine is in the basement too. It's so cozy! And no, there's no savings in buying them in bulk, but I'm more comfortable having them!

I have a little 1000w generator I found at my moms. I figure it'll run it no issues. It draws roughly 400w during start up and 40w when the igniter goes out and it's just the blowers running.

yeah, it doesn't take a lot of power to turn an auger and blow some fans. I think mine worked out to 450 watts. I bought a 3500 watt generator, so i can run fridge, freezer and still have capacity left over.

The house has a generator panel, but I don't have a generator large enough. I figure keeping the house warm is the most important thing. Unless we're out for days, That would suck for sure.

I should get around to putting a generator panel in some day, instead of running extension cords through the house. To be fair, I have only had to use it once in 5 years, Christmas day last year.

I was asking the lady next door to us about outages, she said they rarely ever lose power. Later the next day we lost power.. it was funny

Main reason i want a generator panel is to run my well pump, and septic pumps. Running water is nice to have if you have a multiple day outage.

That's for sure! I'm honestly not sure if the well pump is tied into the panel.. I'll have to check.

I thought of you guys this summer. One day (a super hot day) I was in Sussex NB in the Mini and saw a black Taco with NS plates drive into the Super Store parking lot. Lifted 4 door and loaded with camping gear on the truck and the expedition style trailer. Camping big time. But what struck me odd was that all the windows were open (30*C+) and the driver that got out did not look happy to be there at all. LOL..... Either someone likes big heat or they were not having a good trip at all.

Bird season is starting soon. Any other hunters here? This is my first season with a capable 4wd, and I am really looking forward to getting out.

I'll be starting hunting this year. Picked up a Benelli Supernova a few months ago.

Nice gun. I have a 50 year old single shot 410, and mossberg 12 pump for birds. 410 single is nice for the cab of the truck. Trying to quietly load a pump action on the side of the road while trying not to spook a bird is no fun.
