USPS must be pro fishing. Showed up this afternoon. The delivery stars must have been perfectly aligned.

    Thanks, again

I normally do a trip or two to the Susky for smallies, but the rain this year messed both up.

yeah that picture was on one of the smaller susky tribs. The Juniata has been blown out all summer. hopefully we will have a good fall with plenty of water though. I also fish the lehigh valley for trout quite a bit as its only an hour from me.

Nice. Where do you fish in the LV? I normally hit the Jordan early, then the parkway and the LL, and the river.

Yeah, I was going to say down from the hatchery, by the intersecting paths, there is that small feeder that comes in. Looks like that concrete pad that is right there.

Here’s one from down below a few weeks back. Look like a heron tried to get it before me. The boy had fun reeling it in.

nice! yeah those Herons are relentless. with the amount of fish there and the lack of structure, they get destroyed. That pic was from last Saturday and the hatchery seems to have spilled over with the amount of rain and released quite a few large bananas.

Lol. They put them in a few weeks ago, around mid August. Supposedly the hatchery lost a lot fish in the flooding.

Finally got all of my pics off the various devices and have some time to do a trip report from my recent 2 week DIY/Remote fly-fishing trip to Alaska. I had over 600 photos, so here's some of my favorites.

    Trip Details:
8/18 - Flew from Portland, ME to Anchorage
8/19 - Arrived and flew to Dillingham to organize our gear - most of which had been mailed a few weeks prior
8/20 - Flew roughly 120 miles to drop off location in the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge - Cesna 185
    8/20 - 8/30 - 12 Days/11 Nights on the river - covering roughly 65 river miles.
8/31 - Pick up day and back to Dillingham for gear cleaning, drying, showering, etc. I had shipped 2 large duffles to bring everything home.
9/1 - Fly back to Anchorage and then back to Maine

All the gear held up great. My Patagonia Rio Gallegos waders developed a leak in right foot on day 2 - wore a trash bag over my foot for the remained of the trip - low tech works.

    Brought and used 4 - 7wt outfits.
1 - Bead setup for Dolly Varden
2 - Mouse setup for Rainbows
    3 & 4 - Streamers set up for Coho

7 weights easily handles the strong Cohos. Average was 10-12lb, but we got into some that were 16lb+.

Picked the dates to target the Silver/Coho run. We stopped counting fish caught on day 2.

    Species caught:
    Dolly Varden (Char)
    Silver/Coho Salmon (big numbers)
    Rainbow Trout
    Sockeye Salmon
    Pink Salmon
    Grayling
    Jack Kings

Kept meals pretty simple. Oatmeal & Cliff Bars for breakfast. More Cliff Bars for lunch. Dinner each night was fresh fish with a side dish (Risotto, rice, etc.)

Our Ride & gear all weighed and ready to load:

Finally on the ground and assembled and loaded the raft.

Our campsit/setup each night - We could setup and take down in about an hour (each). We just pulled onto nice gravel bars. The entranaces to our tents were under the tarp - fantastic for when it rained (which was most nights).
