What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I run Toyota factory wipers off the new ia for the taco. Seem to last long enough and inserts are like 4 bucks for me

 

I bought Tricos cause they're the original inventors of the wiper

 

we stock tricos at the dealer for cars without the factory blades. they work fine. only reason i have factory ones is because of how cheap i can get the inserts for em

 

Sounds like that’s your parasitic draw. Shouldn’t kill your battery, but if there’s some aftermarket accessory bypassing all the fuses and directly connected to your battery that could be it.

 

I'm a firm believer in Bosch wipers.

 

Picked up a 3 jaw puller and a new stake nut. Carrier bearing should be here this afternoon. Tomorrow the truck shall go under the knife/impact gun.

I tapped my yoke with a small hammer like twice to get it moving, then slid it off by hand. My carrier bearing came right off with ease. But then again I've got a Cali truck so no rust.

 

Eh, I got it for $14. No biggie if I dont need it. Turns out Spicer does make the bearings for Toyota though. Made me happy as it only cost $77 compared to $200 from a dealer.

 

My truck weighs 4820 unloaded. Heavy?

On our last adventure, Zane, Dan and I all weighed our rigs at the same place. Now consider we were loaded up with our stuff but still... Here are the numbers as I recall them:

Me: 5900 lbs
@turbodb : 5700 lbs
@Speedytech7 4900 lbs

 

4800 for me, I wish we did side to side as well

I didn’t need a 3 jaw puller to do my carrier bearing. It actually just slid off after I took it off of the truck.

Really only an issue if it’s seized on there, or you live in the rust belt.

 

Rust belt. Or at least the truck was originally from there. I saved it.

 

Ah, that would do it. Who knows, you still might not need it. But it’s a good thing to have anyway.
