I have bed stiffeners from @Bentrodder, although I don’t think he makes them anymore. Same concept though

I also have the ATH bed stiffeners, I like the built in bottle opener. Lol. I put mine on pre camper and I havent done serious offroading yet so my tailgate and bed gaps were still good. I did it as a preventative measure knowing what I will be getting into soon. They dont stick out too far, I know you can still fit a 48" wide piece of plywood between them.

Would a 6'3" human easily fit underneath it if the Tacoma was not raised and was on level ground? Thanks!

    Iggy / Phil,

So the new slider window is
    • 40” x 15”
    • Actual opening is 15.875” x 12.750”.
How does the size compare to the Windoors? Acrylic windows you are looking to offer? Wasn't there another, larger Front Runner option? Could you summarize the window choices? We are still struggling with that decision. Thank you!

What's that strut for? ...Some kind of tabletop attached to the tailgate?

The windoor has a 37" x 12" opening. The Frontrunner solid or glass doors have a 40" x 15" opening. The Frontrunner options have a beefy welded aluminum frame that is bolted to the side wall of the camper in multiple places. The windoors have two lockable T-handles and a standard aluminum camper shell frame.

    Both are great options!

If you plan on driving with a side window open, the slider is a great choice. Some customers optioned for one windoor and one slider. The optional ($50) cab slider window can be opened for airflow as well.

I just ordered my Drifter this week and now I'm thinking about how I want to build out the bed area.

Can anyone tell me the dimension from the bottom of the Drifter bed platform support to the floor of the composite bed(2nd gen)?

Image taken from @tdubd - thanks!

The coverage offered by the Alu Cab Shadow compliments the Drifter so well! Covered entryway that deploys as quickly as the camper is clutch.

I'm going to try and get a lightweight wall kit made for it - the Alu Cab offering is made out of heavy duty material so it's heavy, thick and bulky.

Mosquito netting walls would make it perfect.
Edit... Some way to close the gap between the awning and the camper at the back to protect from rain would make it even more perfect.

I suspect the open camper glass door should protect that area enough.

As it is now the awning is brand new, so it should stretch out a bit more - but the open camper door will also protect from rain just as well.

If you’re talking about my dog, thanks! But she’s an American bulldog mix

Brian, awning looks awesome. Why did you decide on the driver's side option? We are weighing choices. Also, do you make screens to go with your windoors? We are still debating the merits of a slider window versus windoor. Maybe windoor under awning and slider on other side. Given the northwest weather, if you could choose, what would you get if you were to do it again? Thanks. C

I went with drivers because that’s the side I have my windoor on so I can access my interior while protected.

I travel with several thousand dollars of camera equipment and other valuables so wanted the protection and access a windoor offered V.S. a window.

From my windoor I can access my water pump, dogs food and water bowel, shower kit, etc.

At no point have I ever wanted a window on the lower half - it’s another thing to cover at night (so you can sleep better), and it’s something that allows people to see inside if they want. That’s just my opinion.

I should be back in town Monday if you want to check out the awning and windoor - my camper is actually organized now!

Whoops... I connected the previous post with yours. Yes, I remember your dog from your posts and she's a beauty too.:) All of the Amereican bulldogs I have known are very mellow and would be good traveling partners.
