He’s a pretty solid dog. They cross bred the breeds to mix the chase and catch dog.

He’s a solid dog, but does NOT like strangers. It takes at least thee times meeting him until he allows you in to the circle of trust.

    Some really cool shit
Some of you may remember the pics I posted of the litter of GSP puppies a little while back. My hunting partner was getting one. Well, he’s five months old now.
    2E7E1550-5360-499D-B1B9-49D868088F64.jpg

Training was going well and everyone was excited. Until two days ago. While the pup was playing in the driveway with a neighbors little dog, another neighbor came by with his dog on a leash. The two unleashed dogs were playing with a ball and my buddy was watching. The ball got away from them and they took off after it. The GSP puppy got too close to leashed dog who then jumped at the puppy, pulling owner. Leashed dog then attacked puppy, locking onto his face. Puncture wound to upper lip and ripped lower lip from jaw on the inside of mouth. Two days and $4500 later, puppy is home. Doing ok. Now just have to worry, wonder, if the little guy will suffer trauma later. I know I’m going to hear all the stories about this great dog and that great dog, but I don’t care. I don’t trust any Pitbulls. As far as I’m concerned any Pitbull is a potential menace. And when it happens, incredible damage can be done in seconds.

I’m with you Don. Just based on evidence, you cannot trust them. They can be great, loving, whatever. You just cannot trust them.

Dang. That's not good. While he's on the mend, try to not be tense around other dogs. That's going to be difficult for you no question, but the dog is going to feed off you. The best thing you can do, as soon as he's ready, get him around dogs you can trust in a controlled environment and pretend nothing ever happened. It'll be the best thing for him long term. I wish you the best of luck. So frustrating people have dogs that can't be trusted around others.
