So today I traded in my trusty SR5 AC  and got a new TRD OR :D. Needed more space in the back for my boys. For some reason they don't stop growing

Not being a dick at all, just curious...

Your AC is a 3rd Gen so Its gotta be a cpl years old at most...and you have had your 2 boys longer than that I'm guessing? Why not just get the DC in the first place?

    Nice truck btw

You sound like my wife, LOL. Really thought we could make it work when we bought the AC. We also do a lot camping and weren't sure if the 5' bed would work with our gear at the time.

They still had room in the back but sitting upright was really the issue. Plus we're planning a long road trip next summer and they needed to be more comfortable back there. I agree, should have bought a DC from the start.

Good thing is I was on the positive side with my old truck, so I didn't lose any money there. I got the new one for $35k out the door.

Yup, I didn’t even look at the AC. I had a 1st gen AC. Knew there wouldn’t be enough space back there for the kids. One of my kids also gets really motion sick. I wanted to save myself from cleaning up puke after every ride.

You could have gotten a 6' bed with the double cab, if you looked long enough that is, but maybe your garage is too small.
