She needed it too. Took a lot of red and tacky. Backed off the bolt, pumped her up, and burped a little out as I tightened it back up. Good now.

Shocked I can feel it a bit at the wheel

    Indeed.

My buddy gave me a CarPlay stereo and I cannot for the life of me get any bass out of it. I had a Kenwood before and it thumped (I have a multi-channel amp and sub that came with the car). I need to play with the settings more, but it just sounds like crap, which is disappointing. Also, CarPlay isn't as awesome as people claim to it to be IMO and I don't find Entune any worse.

I changed out my seats because the stock C5 seats are crap and they rock in their rails. Because the seat area is so narrow, the Corbeau A4 is the only reasonable priced seat that fits. Since I've gained 50 lbs since college I don't fit as well as I should. I also didn't think it through and get the shaved bases, so I sit higher in the car than I should. It's fine when the roof is off, but the roof on makes it a bit tight. Once I sit in the seats for more than 10 minutes they form to me and it's not so much an issue. My sunvisors have broken so they're floppy and in the way. Of course the Corvette tax means replacements are like $100-150 for the pair, instead of $50 for the pair like any normal car.

Which brings me to the glass roof. I purchased it because I wanted something that didn't leak and that let in some light to reduce the claustrophobia of the solid roof. It works pretty well except for the fact it rattles in the car. It's something that can be adjusted, but it's fiddly. I'll do it, it's just carving the time. I've got a really nice sunshade for the roof but unless I install it perfectly right, my hair if gelled up will rub the top.

I went back to my JDM roots and threw in a Broadway mirror for laughs and now every time I hit a bump the mirror tilts from the weight. There's gotta be a way to tighten it up somehow.

Then there's the BS that's the pop up headlight assembly. I'll tear it apart next year and fix it.

Man, I need a night out with the wife to mentally reset myself, huh?

    TL;DR

Mike whines a lot about his first world problems.

Morning all. Up in NH for an event, Mt Washington Jeep Takeover. Vendors and wheeling at one location and then we go to the mountain to go to the summit. Overcast and windy is the forecast but whatever. Have a great day

I think a lot of it is they're told a 4-year-degree is the minimum option. Trade jobs are looked at as second class, and that's wrong.

I went for an A.S. after high school and got a lot of comments about how I "should be doing more." I'm 26 now with a house, new truck, financial stability, and job I love and I still get those comments. It's irritating, to say the least. Truth be told, I eventually will go back for a B.S., but it won't be because I feel I need to "do better" or "move on."

I just hired a PC tech. The resumes I got were garbage, I threw out over half of them. I ended up with a good person in the end, fortunately.

Just sold my entire childhood for $10 at my yardsale...Wife and kid are mostly selling stuff and my wife says "Brian there's a guy here specifically looking for BASEBALL CARDS" and she smiles because I've had this bin of cards forever that's all 1990's stuff that's worthless now but was my entire sum total of money earned with my paper route from age 11 to 15....and I just sold it all for $10....I told the guy "there are no hidden gems, it's all the worthless 1988-1994 saturated cards...There's a clemen's rookie in there and maybe a frank thomas stadium club. I probably could've gotten $150 for everything if I did the legwork..which I would never do because I just needed to rip it off like a band aid...sniff...

I camp up there every year. We hiked through it last year also. It’s pretty neat, my family really enjoyed it. We stay at the State Campground up thre when we go.

In my never-ending tire research, I think I found a contender that seems like a better option than the Falken AT3Ws I was looking at.

Nokian makes a Rotiiva A/T and A/T Plus. They are severe snow rated, priced reasonably, and the standard load ones are 38 lbs, almost exactly what the Michelins are. The Plus is an LT-E Rating at 46 lbs, still less than the SL Falkens.

That's appealing to me because I think it will preserve my quiet ride and gas mileage more than the Falkens would. Anyone have any feedback?

I'm trying to preserve my 23 MPG and quiet ride as much as possible while having something decent in the snow.

Only negative I've read is people only seem to get 35-40k miles out of these, but I'd expect that if they have a softer compound for snow performance.

I drive about 50 miles a day so I'm really liking the mileage this truck gets. I can consistently get 23+ MPG on my commute over hilly 40-50 MPH secondary roads.

I'm okay with a small hit, but I don't want to put heavy tires with lots of rolling resistance on and suddenly drop a lot.

Michelin LTX M/S2 on my truck. Zero issues in snow. Quiet on the highway. They're very tame looking though...
