Its my dads. A miller. Not even sure on the specs. Hooks up to a normal outlet. Wire feed. Its pretty fun

Just bought a Hobart 140. Need some PPE. @Bentrodder. Noticed one hat for welding and one for grinding. Anything you recommend to keep myself from catching fire?

 

Don’t ask @Bentrodder for PPE recommendations I’ve seen him weld he says the hoods all suck so he just squints and the clothes all eventually burn out so he just welds naked. (He also told me he cooks bacon naked as well)

 

That's weird. He welds fully clothed for me. #awkward.

My grind hood is just an old welding hood with a clear lens. I really like Millers new hoods and lenses. I just got a new Jackson for work and it’s meh, shoulda got another Miller.
As far as catching on fire, you get used to it.

Get a nice auto dimming helmet. Goes light for grinding and dark for welding. Thats what i use

Haha nope! They’re going on. Just need to find the time. Shop quoted me $300 to install.

 

Just throw some JB weld on them ugly areas like its bondo.

Some of mine arn't pretty either.
