SHIT! Id be furious too. If Im not satisfied within 6 months, Im gonna consider something else. I'll make sure my dealer and Toyota have their hands full with me. Thats absurd for such a reputable company.

I agree. I traded a JK on 33s stock running a D30 front with 3.73s that ran stronger than the Taco.

I’ve had 6 tacos. Last 3 were 3rd gens. 16 had diff replaced twice before they helped me move into a 17. That 17 had cps failure at 7k miles followed by a piece of the windshield and mirror popping off. Current 17 at 12k miles started the diff howl and I’m seriously considering leaving the Toyota family. All my issues got “addressed” under warranty but still have a lot less love for my tacos then I did my 2nd and 1st gens.

I only walked away from buying one last night as I’m not sold on FCA QDR and it is a $48k Jeep. Lol. Was hard too pass up though.

They offered me $4k off sticker on JLU rubi and $31.5k for my Taco. Still expensive though for a vehicle.

I was shopping for a JLUR but couldn't agree to pay close to 50k on a stock Jeep lol I do miss my Jeep though.

I love the Taco but dam I wish they fixed this shit once and for all. Id hate to have to get a new F150 or a ZR2 lol

    Extang Solid fold 2.0 - I'd give it a 7/10

Wasn't really replying to that part as much as the trans. Should get the tire balance checked.

drive at 40MPH flat road with ECT on then while at 40MPH turn ECT off.....hows that for slow down, feels like you just opened a parachute out the back. this is why i belong to the ECT on all the time club.

Driving at a steady state 40 and turning the ECT off and/or on has no effect on my truck. The only thing I can determine ECT does is move the shift points under accel or de-accel.

Came with my truck. Leaks in heavy water but just down the insides of the back half of the bed. The issue is more the textured bed rails Toyota used. These a gap right where the hinge is.
Panels have sun faded even with my 303 treatments.

How did you get into 2 other ones? I'm having some massive transmission issues, and would like to get in to a manual as these autos are shit. What's your magic?

Only magic was the move from the 16 to the 17 after 2 rear diff replacements and still howling. The last 17 was me just taking a small loss to move into JBL, tech, premium which I didnt have on the first 17. Resale is good you should be able to move into a M/T with little loss depending on if you overpaid the first time or not.
