Make us a driver's grab handle. Maybe like this Smittybilt version for Wranglers.

Do you think, the visor bolt is strong enough? You could add a hinge so that it moves upward, which would also help get it out of the way if the airbag deploys. I know I haven't considered all possibilities or issues that may be encountered, I'm just trying to kickstart some ideas. It amazes me that no solution has been found yet.

Mirror bolt is definitely not strong enough. And shouldn't your hands be on the wheel if your in the driver's seat?

No need for a fabricator. That would be something you would design in CAD then have machined.

Notice how the door is open in the photo. I think most of us would use it to help us get inside the truck. I know that many don't need it but many would also like to have it. Using the steering wheel to assist sucks, especially when the truck is already on and the steering wheel is not locked..

I think a lot of practical people have reconciled the loss. Others have found workarounds, like tying a rope to the opposing door and pulling themselves in. It sounds worse than it is.

    For short people! :p

I use my handle to get in the truck all the time. 3rd gens no longer have a handle on the driver's side?

There are 2 holes in the A Pillar already, 1 of them just needs a J Nut or a Nutsert.

I'm 5'9" and have lifted it 2+ inches plus the tires has also added lift. I always have to grab the steering wheel or the top of the door to get in. I'm 39 but will hopefully get older. :)

I'm 5'8", 40, & my truck is lifted 3". It's smaller than a 3rd gen but even though having a handle when you want is nice.

Good idea, I bet you can make a nice chuck of money if you get something designed & made.

After a few years of sliding into your seat it will look like this. :)

The problem is the potential liability. It has to somehow be able to be tucked away so it does not impede the airbag function.

Have you gotten into a 3rd gen? It’s not the size, it’s mysterious. There’s like a weird Bermuda Triangle thing going on, I definitely had to adapt to getting into a 3rd. But I’ve refined my steering wheel tug, I’m into it.

The problem is when I turn it on in advance to warm it or cool it and then get in. The steering wheel is no longer locked and I feel like I'm trying to go up Jacob's Ladder.
