    Hey all,

with the Ending of some of the features of Entune on the factory head units I am once again looking for a new head unit. I asked on facebook and people have suggested alpine. I have used alpine for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. I am looking at the iLX-207 and the ilX-f309. Is there any real difference in them besides the screen size. Also, Being able to utilize AS MUCHof the existing factory features is A MUST (Camera, Antennas, etc) I have heard you have to buy modules but am unsure of what ones I need. I have a 2018 TRD Offroad Double Cab with Tech Package Non JBL. Can someone give me some pointers or tips on this as to what I need?

    Thanks,

i like the idea of having a bigger than double din HU. and the feature list of the ilX-f309 looks good, I just wish there was a way to flush mount the screen instead of having it floating out tesla Model 3 style. Since the spot where ou head units fit is bigger than double din it owuld be sweet if someone ofered a large forfactor radio than flush mounted in the factory spot.

I was just crusing around Alpinees site and found this:
    https://alpine-usa.com/product/view/tundra-navigation-x009-tnd/

looks like it was made for the older tundras but it looks like its the same size as what is in our tacomas. It supports meastro and maybe even android auto and apple car play?

Has nayone heard of fitting this radio in our trucks?

I don't know if it's the mastero or not, but I have some glitches with my Kenwood factory stuff. Most annoying is that the rear camera won't switch on unless I wait a full second when changing to reverse.

Other than that, it somehow managed to pull lots of new data to the HU like air/fuel, pedal position, gas level, some Temps, speed, built in accelerometer for g meter, ect. None of this was listed in descriptions or specs of the radio. Happy surprise I guess!

I’ve tried kenwood a few times over the years and been burned by poor quality equipment. At least on their LCD screen units. Always went back to alpine. Looking at pioneer or alpine.

Just installed the ILX-207 and absolutely love it. They had to use several adapters for the install. But we’re able to reuse several as well. Have all the functions the old unit had plus some. The technology behind it is great and Apple CarPlay is amazing. I can even play downloaded music stored on my phone through Spotify. I do not regret it at all. Almost went with the ILX-107 but side by side, it seems limited.

They ran an HDMI cable also and a bypass so I don’t have to be in park with the ebrake on. I’m still going through all the features. hDMI will allow me to play videos

There’s an auxiliary port on the back for an HDMI and you have to convert to lighting

Is there any talk of us getting car play in place of the other apps being removed?

It is so much more pleasurable with the apple CarPlay. Sound quality is great as well. Next is my Focal set up with a custom JL subwoofer

Thats awesome. That will be my next mod. Are you able to access car settings? Like lighting and remote key features? Or are all those car settings unchangeable once the entune system is replaced? Thanks for sharing.

if your worried about changing the settings you can always spend 30 bucks on Amazon and get the techstream cable and software and change it with that.

for what a replacement system will cost another 30 bucks is chump change
