Agreed, though apples to apples hence why I was comparing the Ranger to the Tacoma, not the F-150 since the OP was considering trading in his F-150 for a Tacoma and the Ranger would be another viable option.

Haha, I was a die hard Nissan/Toyota guy since got my license in 98. After they destroyed the Pathfinder in 2013, I lost all interest. They feel extremely outdated now, and plastic everywhere. They were extremely well built, with me personally hitting almost 300k miles on 2 of them, but, Toyota has taken the lead by far. (well, aside this 3.5/auto setup. I'm worried it won't last)

Did you see his taco build? You’d be saying the opposite.

Please let Toyota know that the TSB did NOT fix the problem. Tell them it's 80% better but not complete gone if you want. But they need to hear the real numbers on this.

I would never in my life trade an f150 platinum for a Tacoma OR.

If you do, you should be checked into a mental facility.

Yes, there's a Canada specific number to call though, not the one posted. You'd have to look it up as I don't know it off the top of my head.

I've currently got a case open on my truck with Toyota, and they're surprisingly very active on it and have been extremely helpful along the way.

And that's exactly what I'm leaning towards bud. I had an 08 Tacoma and never did much with it (didn't have any knowledge, just wanted to be cool). I've got some friends of mine with jeeps and they hit the trails all the time... I'd never dare take my Platinum off the pavement, but a tacoma I'd love to tear everything up in sight if I got one.

    D-ring tie-downs.
I don't understand the fascination with Fords. They re-design/re-engineer things that ruin the driving experience for me. Looking at the gauges, the turn signal indicators are in the bottom of the gauges hidden by the steering wheel. The turn signal stalk is spring loaded to center and in the '15 I drive I still can't figure out how to just simply use the stupid thing consistantly. The AC controls are stupid. The little song the thing plays to remind you of stuff annoys me. The brakes are terrible and don't take your eye off the road cause it wanders. I hate it. Glad it belongs to the man. Id never buy one.

You being honest with yourself? Because a new TRD OR is still a $32-40k truck. Gonna “tear” it up in that new truck huh? Just saying.

Not gonna run into a brick wall, but definitely won't be afraid to take the beaten path with it.

Cool! I've had to do this with myself, because last 2 tacos I lifted and realized what a waste of money for crawling the local mx track / mall, especially come trade time. Recently I've been giving serious thought to a full on FOX 2.5 setup but trying to be honest with myself about if I'll actually use it for its intended purpose, same for my desire to move to a new JL Rubicon. I'm all over the place. This truck has stayed stock the longest and its killing me inside.
