    For a few extra dollars, you might want to consider the MPPT controller over the PWM one (they're more efficient/faster):

    Keep in mind --- it looks like both of those kits (MPPT or PWM) have 20 amp controllers. My math says that will safely support a maximum of two of their 100 watt panels (wired in series). Probably okay for most people, but if you ever plan to expand then you'll end up shelling out a couple hundred bucks for a new controller with more capacity.

    Heh. I assume that in 3 years, they'll be selling a 1000 watt panel that's the size of a sheet of paper. It's nice to have a little bit of flexibility.

    Yeah, granted outside of running a fridge and maybe keeping my ipad/surfacepro charged while I out I dont think Illl be needing much more then that so 100W should cover me fine

    Mostly stuff I built.
    I looked into that MPPT controller. While it is more efficient the physical size of it is nearly double that of the Wanderer controller. I also found several reviews that it did not do well in high vibration environments and will eventually fail due to some of the heavier components on it's PCB breaking loose. That is why I went with the simplest decent quality controller I could find. $0.02

    Got my panel up. Not sure if I’ll leave it like this or make it collapsible. Likely leave it as-is as I can’t think of why I’d want it down other than not having the truck look so garish.

    It’s a renogy monocrystalline slim. The mono regular is about identical length wise, but it’s a bit wider by 1.5” i think, that’s why i went with the slim version

    I know I'm gonna sound like a total idiot, but what purpose are these solar panels aside from a random fridge or charging my Phone/Tablet. I've checked them out, but couldn't really come up with a good viable purpose of installing them. Now, if there was a way to get more than 400w out of my rear plugin so that I could actually run say a Sawzall, I'd be excited.

    For me only keeping battery topped off for running fridge...having the security of no dead battery,no ice and wet foods to come back to after leaving truck sitting for week is worth the low cost of panel and ease of hookup.

    Best....... very cold beers always waiting
