I'd be careful linking the garage and kitchen by anything more than a door way. I dunno about you but my garage smells like cars and car fluids. I don't want any of that back feeding into the house.

 

So many houses are selling in my neighborhood. The one on the corner sold for $1.7 Million.

 

I was lazy, I parked the truck and made sure the flange was positioned so I could access all the bolts. I even repainted both sections of the drive shaft with it still on the truck.

Maybe, I haven't had issues with rust but AZ is dry in general too. Iron shavings will rust anyway if you look at em wrong haha

If my noise come back, Ill install a half inch thick chunk of steel under it. But hopefully its fixed.

Yeah SoCal there is no issue with rust either but on my machines & tooling, there are many precision ground surfaces that are bare cast iron & steel. They'll get surface rust. While I can always just polish it off or leave it as it won't really affect anything, I've spent a lot of money on this stuff & I rather just avoid it. A swamp cooler in my garage will cause surface rust & I don't do well with humidity.
