I did the same. Peace of mind. It was about $1500 for 7yr/125,000 mile. It's paid for itself before on my previous used car.

That’s good. Does the free maintenance include differential changes and the other “bigger maintenance”

Following...thinking about getting an extended warranty. There should be another thread of what people have had replaced under warranty, not including TSBs.

I'm not exactly sure. I think it's bumper to bumper so that would be included as long as any mods weren't identified as the reason for something breaking.

I remeber when my first Taco used to tell me it was slipping by either not moving when I pushed the gas, or by moving in an unintended direction all by itself. I’m glad Toyota put in a $1200 sensor to do that for me! :bananadance:

I like it when it doesn't move even though I have the pedal to the floor. Engine limiting TRAC should not ever be a thing.

In the end, I do like ABS since I can't control each wheel with one pedal. All the gizmos on top of that are just functions of ABS and the electronic TB or DI.

I don't have ABS on my motorcycles and have done really well without it. I don't really want the extra parts and complexity but will probably end up with it someday.

Abs on a street bike sounds like a great idea. Yeah, its nice having traction and brakes when you need it!

I know back in the day, extended warranties were shunned upon but the new gen of cars are not made like the olden days anymore. If anything, the electronics are designed to last X number of years/miles and tested as such.

We purchased extended warranty on my X5 diesel for $1800 and it's already paid itself off several times but then again, it's a German vehicle and even my local Indy shops don't wanna deal with complicated diesel issues. And the reason why I'm trading it in and going back to a truck..Lol.

Granted Japanese cars are probably more easier to work with but once you factor in time, parts, labor, the whole run around, the extended warranty may not be bad after all. The main thing is to negotiate the price during purchase.

I’m probably going with the USAA Extended Warrenty. I’ve been shopping around and nobody can compete with the price. Granted it’s only for 100k but it’s only $859.

I've seen some good stuff with it and some bad. The ABS version of my particular bike set a braking record that stood for a very long time and worked well enough to lift the rear wheel. On the down side, there was no indication when the ABS pump would fail (which it often did), it was a non-repairable, $1,200 part, and the system was extremely difficult to bleed.

My next bike, a VFR800 has optional ABS and, thankfully for a Honda street bike, unlinked brakes. It also has an old school cable throttle. I can't seem to look away for now, but finding a used on will be as search as very few folks bought the last gen.

I'm at 34k now. I need to go hit my 3rd brake light with some pressure at a wash. I have not yet had it leak, but given all the other issues I've had I have to bet this will surface at some point with my Aug'16 built '17 and what I would hate even more is the thing leaking after warranty and messing up my interior / headliner and having no recourse.

Any other ideas to check brake light - no moisture issues I can see in the cab right now
