Doesn’t that take away from the purpose of headlights?

I did something similar on an old 4runner and am considering it on my truck. It really helps against rock rash and hides any small damage from the trail.

I think they mean blacked out as in disassembling the housing and painting the chrome on the inside black. That would have zero effect on the performance since the headlights are projectors and not reflectors. This is essentially how the factory TRD Pro headlights are, and there are threads on here about doing it to the standard chrome headlights as well.

I think it looks good but I'm not big on how it dips down behind the rear fenders. I think it should have gone straight through. Other wise I like the tailgate and the idea overall. We face some shitty roads/winters up here.

Throw some sandbags in the back though bud, I did a 720 on the highway just outside of spruce Grove hopping on the highway one morning. Rear end is pretty light in these things

@Tars Asaurus Rex which kit did you get or do you recommend?I really like the thought of this stuff for my sliders and bumper and I'm gonna order one. Just straight black is what I'd like, same as yours. Thanks. Oh and I don't have an air set up currently.

I bought the black 4 litre kit with the paint gun from Amazon, it was the best price I could find. You will need to buy an air regulator to attach to the gun and you do need a decent air compressor to do this. Also if you're going to paint this stuff onto bare metal, be sure to use a self etching primer first as the raptor liner doesn't stick to metal on its own.

I used three litres for my job, and so you might get away with only one, maybe two litres.

Good luck, mine is holding up very well so far in the cold weather we're having

One thing to remember guys before everyone starts linering everything that the textured nature of rhino/linex ect. is that it traps dirt & mud and is hard to get off after that . OP it does look good though I'll give you that . I also figure for you it helps to keep rock chips from starting rusting issues since your in the snow/salt frequently.

You are right about it holding onto dirt and stuff but I did select raptor liner as it is a hard texture finish opposed to the more rubbery finish of linex.

Raptorliner is fantastic. I went ahead and covered my old '96 from head to toe with it and couldn't be happier. It's held up well...looks the same as the day I applied it a year ago. This stuff can take a missile. Also is great for door ding repellant.

Came out nice. I think it would look even better to color match the Raptor Liner.

Its holding up great...no regrets. It's nice just taking a hose and never having to wax again that's for sure. I'd definitely do it again, just make sure to sand and wash properly in the process. Take your time with the taping too...that was the most time consuming part but I'm glad I didn't cut corners. Once you get to the liner spraying stage it's a lot of fun and real rewarding. Here's another picture up close, if you have any other questions feel free to ask!
