Looking to make/order something up for my Dad's 18 Pro. Before I do, since he lives a ways away, does anyone have the center to center measurement for the mounting holes under the cover? (the threaded one and the lower that will need a rivnut)

The distance will be the same as the handle on the Passenger Side

I'm working on a grab-bar for my 17 Tacoma Driver Side. Have gone through a few prototypes so far, and just going for a very specific look. Once I finally get it, I'll post some photos on here, but won't be selling them as I don't want to be responsible for anyone getting into an accident and it having affected their airbags at all. Currently away for work for a few weeks, so won't be working on it till I get back into my home state.

Me too. It'd be nice to be able to be home for more than short periods before heading off to work, as i'd most likely have it finished by now. But... gotta make that money in order to play. :D

If l really wanted a grab handle on the drivers side I would get an A Pillar trim piece from a 2nd Gen and a handle for a 3rd Gen and flip it

The pillar shapes are different between 2nd and 3rd gens. I have looked and compared:pout: as far as I can see, it wont work without serious modification.

The A Pillar itself is the same, but you are probably right about the trim piece cause the dash is different.

2nd gen is more round and 3rd gens are pretty much square/ rectangle.

My ‘18 came with a grab handle. Not sure why other models didn’t.

Your picture does nothing for us... Also, I assume you are referring to the passenger side? We are looking for a driver side solution.

Has anyone come up with a better solution? - Something closer to what the Tundra guys did.

Nope. Referring to what’s right there in the picture. It’s round, and has several places for you to grab and pull yourself into the cab.

A couple years ago there was a storm flooding some streets pretty badly and people were doing this everywhere. Kayaks abound too.
