Factory cd player sound quality

Hey all, I have a new 2010 TRD DC 4x4. The factory radio has a good enough sound quality for me, but when I play a CD, the sound quality sucks. Its like there is 0 bass and the treb. is maxed out. After reading up on these high quality JBL's did I get a dud? Going to take it up friday and have the stealer take a listen, just wanted your input.

I will admit, the JBL sounds better than I initially gave it credit after playing around with the mid/bass/treble. Still for the cash it was a waste when I could have put Infinity Kappa's all around for the same cost (but I was locked in due to I wanted the off-road package).

I haven't tested a CD but I have been running my Droid through Aux. Minus the Aux having a horrible poping feedback noise when plugging it in and taking it out (might be my cable though) it sounds amazingly pretty clean even on 36kbps AAC streaming.

 

You may already know this but I figured I would mention it just in case. Each mode (CD, AUX, SAT, FM etc) has its own settings (Bass, Treble, mid) so you have to change these settings in each mode. Once you change the settings in a mode, those stay but only for that mode. This way you can set each mode to sound the way you like because each mode produces a slightly different quality than the other.

 

Next time you plug in or out Aux plug have the aux Off or have radio system turn off.
you not get feedback or pop.

the pop is NOT good for the speaker, you can blowout the speaker Driver
When you have the Aux on Jack Have com, Left and right channel
radio is short out when you plug into the jack.

In part have your Aux jack off when you plug-in or out

 

My 370Z had bose throughout.... Therefore, the new sound system is terrible..... But I guess it is what it is.... Not a huge music fan, so I deal with it....

 

There's a few problems that myself and other members have encountered with the stock HU. Mine started acting up before I hit 1000 miles!

Cut out completely
Display not working
Poor volume when using AUX

Makes me wonder...

Go aftermarket!!!

 

I just replaced all six speakers on mine yesterday but left the factory HU as is. I was ready for the difference to be slight, but it's actually quite significant.

You wouldn't believe how flimsy the factory speakers actually are, at least to look at them. I was shocked.

 

Meh if it blows out I'll get a real system, like an Alpine HU, Alpine PDX and infinity kappa's all around.


Also the pop has never blown any of my other speakers out... hell my logitech comp setup with KLH home theater speakers are going on.... well since 2002 and I do it all the time with them lol.

 

whoa i didnt know that. I just went back to stock after getting ripped off, and I thought that it would take me some time to get adjusted to the crappy sound (coming from amps, sub, etc). maybe i should try to change the settings for CD to get better sound

 

dude! when you play a cd you have to readjust the bass and treble. there are separate settings for the radio, cd, or AUX. you have to adjust for each one

 

already had adjusted that

Went out this afternoon to double check (don't drive it for my commuter), popped in a cd, and it was working like a champ. Actually to much bass because I had already maxed it out. So apparently I have a ghost Oh well, I don't listen to cd's that much anyways
