Brave or maybe just stupid going out alone in a Jeep. I've heard of jeeps catching fire from the transmission fluid boiling over onto the exhaust.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Overlanders wire up lots of auxiliary equipment, it's possible the person who installed items wasn't good about routing cabling safely, shielding cabling, proper fusing of circuits.

What I find is amazing is he had time and battery life to video that whole damn ordeal.

"I don't know guys, I don't think this is repairable" LOL

Big kudo's for keeping the fire under control and getting some of his gear out of the rig before its total demise.

This can happen to any vehicle, and have personally seen two Tacoma's, a few Jeeps, and tow rigs have fires.

Passed this one the other day.

Maybe the dude just wanted to be an Instagram whore so he burned it down himself, and also to collect on the insurance money.

Saw the article on jalopnik this morning. Super bummer. People were ridiculing him for not filling the interior with dirt lol. By the time he had used up his extinguisher and those 3 gallons of water, only to discover the fire had gotten through the firewall into the interior, there's not much he could have done without a milspec halon system.

If i ever have a fire in my cab, i'll open the valve on my CO2 bottle, throw it in close the doors and pray.
