I dunno why everyone is hammering on the OEM snorkel so much but not mentioning that it is leaps and bounds above the 3rd gen Safari snorkel, which looks like it's eating the side of the truck.

Then again, from what I've read so far, half the third gen forum still legitimately believes that snorkels are for fording rivers, Oregon trail style, so I shouldn't be surprised...

If it’s that bright on a rainy day, I think they should include sunglasses, for when the sun is out.

I don’t hate it, but on the FJ there were other elements to break up all that intensity. I’m looking forward to seeing it in person, before I decide how I feel. I did a complete 180 degrees on cavalry, once I stood next to one.

The snorkel just gets uglier, with every new pic.

    I love the color.

    Here’s what I find weird....
I understand if you have a truck with a skewp on it, then you add a snorkel. But to put out a brand new truck with the appearance of two intakes just seems a little odd to me.
    A snorkel and a skewp, Toyota? C’mon.

Agreed, If Toyota engineers were really thinking about it, it would look something like this...

TRD Pro Option #1 a 100% Functional, ram air hood scoop YES functional... I still honestly don't understand offering a NON FUNCTIONAL hood scoop.
TRD Pro Option #2 the Snorkel option, ordering this should delete the hood scoop. Also, it would be cool if the snorkel was a quick release item and had a small functional replacement scoop that could go on for normal every day driving.

I mean to me this makes sense, lets face it a snorkel is not for every day driving, and really (well hopefully) you aren't buying the snorkel to look good (I havent seen ANY vehicle snorkel that looks "good" yet), you are buying the functionality of it... IMHO it is 100% function over form in this case. I am NOT opting for the snorkel, because I don't plan on Prerunning my truck in Baha...

Paint the roof white, like it was on the FJ, and it would look even cooler!!

Voo doo blue will look pretty killer in person. Especially since it is a color you won’t see everywhere. Not a cookie cutter color.

Not my cup of tea, actually Calvary blue was but ass ugly too, but this is worse. However, this is why different colors are offered on every car there is - different folks different strokes

It's unfortunate that Toyota dropped red for this candy blue. To each their own but the blue is not for me.

The snorkel is not relevant for most buyers. A dealer where I live just got their first TRD Pro and its 52k which is insane for a Tacoma with fancy shocks. Hard pass.

I'd like to see one in person, the color looked really good on the FJs. I like seeing interesting/colors other than standard white/black/silver.

Until next year when it's available for other trims.

Because on TW they need something to hammer on, used to be the Pro as a whole but now they realized it's actually worth the price (when paying MSRP mind you) and that the Fox 2.5 are very good. They would be bashing on the color a lot more if it wasn't for the snorkel lol

One good thing about the snorkel is that it comes with the TRD Air Intake as per my dealer, could someone who has access to the truck with a snorkel confirm this?

You do realise functional hood scoop are usually not engine air intake? They hide an intercooler or radiator behind them...

And they are not non-functionnal per say on the Tacomas as they help bring cooler air into the engine bay, probably not enough to make a real difference, but it does help.

Makes Cavalry blue look palatable imo but then i am not a loud color person but BBP was actually one that I did like.

Everything on TW has to be taken with a grain of salt (just like ANY truck/Car Forum... Thick skin is a must on any forum.)

I do realize that yes, I have owned several cars with"functional hood scoops" my 69 Camaro had a "functional" cowl induction hood. My Subaru WRX STi had a "functional hood scoop" for the stock top mount intercooler. I had a custom cold air intake with a "functional NON-hood scoop" on my Mitsubishi GSX. I get that there is a minor cooling effect from the hood scoop but it is still 99.999% NOT Functional, it is for looks plain and simple (don't get me wrong, I like how it looks, I just wish it was MORE functional!)

Color ain't bad, but the snorkel looks dumb as f$%k. If I had my choice between identical trucks other than color, I'd still take the original BBP over the voodoo, but any blue truck is ok by me.

For all those people looking for function, factory louvers like the Raptor should be the Pro option in my opinion. I cut in my own on an OR hood and they really make a difference in operating temperature.
