More stuff with multiple functions based on how long you hold the button in.

Update. It did it again while I was in the driveway. I was just moving the truck and the pre-collision off light appeared. I decided to call the dealership and see if they had any suggestions. I ended up having to leave a voicemail with the service department and hopefully they will get back to me. If it wasn't for being under warranty and the free services I would just call up the mechanic that takes care of our other vehicles, but they even recommended taking advantage of the free service while I had it.

Received a call back from the service department. Unless it gets worse they said there is nothing they can do under warranty. I guess I have to hope it either fixes itself or gets to a point that they can fix it.

    Greetings everyone,

This thread is a few months old now, but I just bought my 2018 about three weeks ago and had this issue happen too.

Had the cruise control going just fine along the highway when the buzzer went off and error messages for Cruise Control, Lane Departure, and Headlight systems came on. I wasn't close to another vehicle, but this being Texas, it was very sunny out.

The Cruise system disabled itself (I was using radar cruise, not the “regular” one), so I went from 80mph to no acceleration from the system - but the pedals worked fine, so no apparent mechanical failure. I turned the vehicle off then back on and all messages were clear. This makes me think it has something to do with the front camera being impacted...

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this something that will happen forever?

i've replaced a few of the radar sensors under warranty. im not saying its a common issue, but its under investigation. there may have been a bad batch of them.
any good dealer will have heard this and will replace it for you under warranty.

Mine has gone off due to high heat when parked. Toyota said it was normal, it goes back to normal as soon as I drive it a few miles and cools off.

I had this issue last month.

It started as a PCS Unavailable error which would come and go at random. Sometimes it would happen immediately, sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes it would stay 'Unavailable' and other times it would toggle between ok and unavailable. Truck was clean, no rain, no excessive heat, nothing like that. Took it in to the dealership, they drove it and it was fine. When I picked the truck up I got 10 minutes away and it went Unavailable so I turned around to head back while it was on. About halfway there it went to a full 'PCS Malfunction'. I guess the Malfunction actually throws a code so they replaced it under warranty. Frustrating experience, truck has about 5k on it. 2018 DCSB OR.

Just replaced the front radar. I was hoping it would be a plug and play kind of thing, but they said the new one needed to be recalibrated and it could take 2-4 hours.

Thank y'all for weighing in - sounds like a visit back to the dealer is in order. Hopefully it's a matter of replacement.

I have had it cut out twice, and have had a few false positive BRAKE alarms. Heavy rain caused the outages, and the dealer blamed the brake alarms on insects. Based on the massacre on the front of my taco, i think they are right.

I also have a 17 corolla with same features, and it has never cut out, nor ever given a false positive BRAKE alarm.

I mentioned the issue when I went in for my first service and they told me that unless it threw a code or they could replicate it that there wasn't much they could do unless I wanted to pay for them to just start poking around. I have no idea what could have caused it but hasn't happened again recently.

what ever happened to heads up eyes open and pay the F attention to your surrounding and DRIVE? It's called situational awareness. I disconnected all of the TSS BS and I have no problems with false warnings. Lane assist and blind spot monitoring also disconnected.

Well that is nice for you, but since we are paying extra for the TSS I expect it to function properly. I don't think anyone posting here said that they weren't paying attention and relied entirely on the TSS, just comments about it occasionally not working as expected.

Toyota needs to fix their design-defect:
I am also having issues with the cruise control stopping. No dirt or bugs, but instead triggered by moisture on sensor. Had to stop several times just to wipe off moisture. This should not be happening! I had a jeep with radar cruise, and this NEVER occurred except few times in heavy snow. Toyota has this problem occur when just “misting” outside. They need to retrofit sensor with a heating element or change design. A PARTIAL fix would be a software change so if the sensor is non-operational, vehicle switches to “non-radar” cruise control. This was an option with Jeep.
Please post if you are having this issue. I plan on contacting Toyota corporate to encourage they offer a resolution. The more documented complaints, the faster they will respond. Thank you

First road trip, a week after picking up the truck, to Seattle in the rain. Radar assist quit south of Portland (~2 hours into the trip). Stopped for a burger in Vancouver and wiped the front logo where the interwebz told us the sensor was and looked behind after popping the hood. Didn't see anything at all but the radar assist cruise didn't have any other hiccups the rest of the trip (nor since in fact).

My new Sensor is starting to have issues....

After sitting at work all day, I'll drive about 100 yards and the 'Clean Sensor' error message appears and the Pre-Collision Off light comes on. I'll go about 5 miles and the sensor begins to work, light goes off and everything is great. My commute is about 30 miles and it won't appear after that initial time. Even if I drive it later after getting home, it'll be fine, it's just that first drive after sitting most of the day. It's not in direct sunlight, not raining, and it's clean. The truck sits in the garage all night and it doesn't happen then.

I'm reluctant to take it back to the dealership at this point, it'll be tough to recreate.

    My
18 has 500 miles on it, and stays spotless. It came on randomly yesterday, would only reset when I would turn off the truck. Then it cleared for about 30 miles then the message turned on and never turned off again.

Mines does it at random. Can be cloudy, rainy, frosty, foggy, wrong barometric pressure, a flurry, trucks bored, no idea. Just happens. Truck warms up and then it works again. I find the system meh at best and a mediocre implementation by Toyota. VW, Volvo, ford, etc. all work far better and are less intrusive. Good for a lower insurance premium. Works well for cruise control, but if was an option I would've left that box unchecked.
