    Thanks! Great info.

I suppose it is a lot easier to air out than a ground tent (in our living room for a couple days) or a typical RTT.

    Correct.

I've had very, very little condensation on the inside of the tent. I've almost always camped with all the windows closed too.

Yes. I just popped it up in the backyard and let it sit in the sun for 30min. Super dry climate here though.

It probably would've dried out that morning, but I had to pack it up and get rolling.

Maybe I will have to strike Lockhart off then, it just sounded super cool. Unfortunately I dont have anyone that can come along for the trip so we are going in 1 vehicle. I have full suspension and I am on 32" tires, I was thinking of getting sliders before the trip but am not sure given that I bought the camper and ADS suspension this summer so I need to relax on money. lol.

Crazy, it didnt look that wild from what I have looked up but I guess it may not be the most up to date info. Maybe one year.

I certainly appreciate the heads up, I will most likely be getting sliders but I wont have complete armor by any means. Maybe I will just stick to the green trails in Moab, I definitely want to do rimrocker though.

I currently have a softopper with 'windows' that provide basically no visibility except glow of headlights behind me at night. I also have a tire that blocks the view even if i could see out in the first place. I learned pretty quickly to rely on my side mirrors to drive in ridiculous Atlanta traffic. As for backing up in the city and with the tire blocking my back up camera, I installed a new camera to my steel bumper (https://camera-source.com/2010-2015-toyota-tacoma-camper-camera-kit-plug-and-play.html) This thing plugs right into the existing system so it is super clean (no extra screens to deal with). Super great and no problems off road so far. Recommend this route if your setup is similar to mine.

See below for the rear of my truck. I circled in blue where the camera is. My GFC will not have windows. Seriously, no need for that window visibility. Camera.jpg

Our visibility is about the same. I didn’t even bother with a camera though haha. I’ll put one on my swingout some day.

How is the image quality on that, especially at night? The stock camera is ok during the day and pretty bad at night, so if that one is notably better I'm going to add it to my list to consider.

It's just OK at night. Not terrible. It's been good enough in some tricky parallel parking situations at night (people like to stick their hood right up under my tire and gas cans..SMDH). I will say that you can't tell exactly how far something is. It can make me look like I'm right up on something but in reality I have a few more feet (which is better than the opposite). I spent more time than I would like to admit researching cameras and this had the best reviews and was perfect for my needs. On the pricey side but worth it.

Ok, thanks for the info. I'll probably just end up relocating the stock camera when I get my swing out. It would be nice to have something with better quality at night, which is when I'm more likely to look to the camera for some assistance.

The Rimrocker looks interesting. I've wanted to drive the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands for some time and will try to include that in my GFC shakedown cruise on the way back home (many months from now.)

I think I like this camera a lot more than the blue tooth one I was planning! I’m with @DoorDing though for sure, gonna run it up to the extrusion on the GFC, brilliant. How have you not shown me that camera before???? Lol

I like that camera better than the Amazon one I’m using now even though it works fine. I like that it’s plug and play so I can put my wire harness back together and the mount for the camera looks strong.

Mounting it on the tent would be great for seeing behind, but the spare tire would prevent me from seeing the trailer hitch when hooking up to a trailer.

Maybe I could use 2 cameras and have a switch to flip between views..

DoorDing, can you add the camera to your post with the list of mods even though it's not GFC specific (and possibly specific the gen/model Tacoma). I'd love to get one of these, but I need the truck first!
