Yes but it is greasy somewhat and has to be prepared correctly , I have had bear paw stew it was umm ok but then again so is Dinty Moore. Also had a roast meh have had better deer ,cow etc . Others may no better how to prepare it then the ones who prepared what I had. YMMV

Yes but its different, very dark red meat, can be greasy, alot of people around here eat it. its not my favorite.actually i dont shoot them because i eat what i shoot..ive seen plenty and let them walk, and some bear hunters rarely shoot them, its about the dogs and the chase.the group i go with look for a male 300lb plus before they bust one,but yes recipes to cook it rite are good!!i shot one,325lb male.but i love to see them and hear the dogs work a track.you can tell by the barking, are they trailing, looking at him, up or down a ridge or treed.glad you asked!! at my first bear tree we pulled the dogs and the bear started coming down,Red gave me a stick and said poke him in the ass so he wil go back up!I did, turned around and 6grizzly old hunters laying on the ground laughing, said they never brought anyone dumb enough to fall for that..i fit in well with them after that:D

    Yup.
Taste has everything to do with what they are on, eating wise.
Bear eats garbage...meat tastes like garbage,IMHO.

They're ...OK in the taste dept. Depends on how it's butchered and cooked.
Treat like pork. Again, I thought it was ..OK.
I cut mine into mostly steaks and roasts.
300 pounder I got in Green Mtn. National Forest in Vt.
He was at a high elevation and was eating Mountain Ash berries.

Bruce I know this was expected and we try to tell ourselves in these situations that they have moved onto happiness and a pain free life. It’s only through our faith we can actually believe this. It doesn’t erase the pain but we only feel the pain because we feel love. Rejoice in any and all the good memories. We don’t see you enough in here anymore this is a wonderful and supportive group
