Oh. I do kinda regret getting black. I love the color, but can be a little OCD with my paint. And black as we know...yea. Only reason I did because it was listed at 42k and I got it for 37.5k.

In that case, based on what I read here, you need a sport with a 3" body lift and 33" tires, full skids, new bumpers, sliders, and probably new wheels that stick out 6".

    Or just get an SR5.

Agree with this Q, why do you need a truck?

Agree. Lot's of poo-pooers around here, but they are decent rides.

This is a big deal. Piles of complaints here that should have been discovered on test drives. So do it.

    But............

If you don't need a truck, there are 4wd or AWD alternatives that will price out well, give good service, and be more economical to operate. And if you need a truck bed to occasionally haul 'something', either buying a small utility trailer, renting a trailer, or even renting a truck is likely a much cheaper option than owning a truck.

RAV4s, Subie Forester and other options come to mind for the use you've described so far.

Which is garbage, IMO. If there was an option to delete for the non-Nav unit and get $ back, I'd be that much richer right now.

Mine works great but it is also the first time I've had it so nothing to compare it to.

Which you still have to pay for map updates, correct?

Pretty screen, but not a worthy update IMHO. I'll stick with portable alternatives.

I own a house so truck really comes in handy. I currently have a truck and a car and I am trying to consolidate two cars into one. The trailer idea would not work as I often use the truck to haul my bikes on a longer bike rides and need it weekly to drive yard waste to the recycling.

Not really crazy about the Nissan look. My second choice would be a Dodge Ram.

Navigation on a Sport model it's not really that important as I mostly use Google Maps on my phone. The push button start is nice though. It is a bit disappointed that Toyota does not have a push button start and Android Auto even in the 2019 models.

I will try to get to a dealer in the next couple of days to check the Tacoma out.

Also, my Off Road stickered at almost $37k, but got it for $32k so you might actually be able to haggle on one model more than you think.

I will making the same decision in 2019 ... TRD Sport or another SR5 ... or maybe another TRD OR ?

Like the Sport ... but not crazy about the non-functional hood scoop on the Sport though.

...^^^... I am leaning that way ... this is about my 10th Tacoma and the TRD OR was a good choice in the past.

I have never seen one on a dealer lot, but if you build out an SR on Toyota’s website, you can get the V6 and the black fender flares from the offroad. You can also get the black satin wheels and SR has the best looking grill of all the packages in my opinion.

If you decide against getting a TRD, I would look into the SR over the SR5.

As as a daily driver I like all the safety shit. Collision detection, blind spot monitoring and probably some other safety stuff I’m missing. The nav system is what it is. I use google maps if I have to get somewhere. I have the tech package also which I think is good. Best Bluetooth I’ve ever had in a vehicle. I like comfort stuff in my vehicles and I’ve never had just a “basic” vehicle except the dodge neon I had in the Navy 20 years ago. Also I believe the suspension is a little tighter in the sport so you can feel the road more. I never looked into an SR5 so I can’t for sure say what vehicle would be best. I do believe I made the right decision for me as a driver who puts 30,000mi a year on his trucks.

No point now in the SR5. You can now get the SR with a V6 in a Double Cab or Access Cab in either 2WD or 4WD. Plus it offers the SX package with convenience package for black alloy wheels, mirror caps, handles and fender flares and wireless door entry and cruise control. The SR is the new winner for 2019 IMO. It even has more colors available now including above. You can get everything you need and nothing you don't want for cheaper than an SR5.

You have the TRD OR Access Cab 6MT as a consolation.;)

The interior color of the SRs was enough to drive me away. For me, the color was so bad I could not stand it everytime I would have got in.

    Obviously personal preference.

Ok, but you probably would upgraded your seat skins anyways.
