    I recommend kickouts because they kick you out and as said before off trees or certain obstacles they help but also give you a little more warm and fuzzy knowing if you get to close it will catch and not take out your fender. Also like cody said I use mine for a step to get to my prinsu racks and shell racks or step to tire to grab stuff etc. My family also likes them because sliders obviously replaced my steps and my kids mostly can use the kickout as a step to get in. I angled mine at 20 for this exact reason.

    You don't need a super difficult trail for kickouts to come in handy. Simple slight off camber slippery slope with a tree/rock downhill from you, little wheel spin and you are up against the tree/rock
