Thank ya' sir. All ready to lend a hand when you pick one up too!! You do a pretty solid job yourself, being willing to go at it is half the battle. The rest, is a lot of parts and bolts, keep track of how it came apart, pay attention and its not to bad usually. Just heavy. I always compared wrenchin to legos. The FSM is like a lego booklet.

Also ended up replacing all the flange bolts on the TC. 2 jacked, another boogered up slightly. I didn't get the "OE replacement" studs. Woulda had to wait. Thats dumb. Went with 4 new 7/16x20 Grade 8 bolts, lock washers and nuts.

I guess I will get OE studs/bolts. They better be made of of kryptonite or something. Grade 8s shear off, what frappin good are they then, why even make the things.

Didn't happen to me but a warning was posted in another thread about using G8's for driveshaft bolts.

I just put some G8's in mine yesterday . It was sunday. Not like Toyota parts dept is even open if I had wanted OE bolts.

This sounds like complete BS, but my vibes went away after clutch install. Maybe something in the cross member of the trans, drive shaft bolts, idk...

:anonymous: just bought a carrier bearing spacer kit too, after the finish of clutchsterfuck 2018

I have a one piece driveshaft. Benefits of da single cab I suppose.

Read on if you want to see me lose my mind. If not, dont.

Levee bub thanks for bringing the bolt stuff to my attention. Ya' was only looking out for a brotha'! I do apologize for being short this morning, like a time bomb went off this morning. Had a plan at work, was gettin at it good and then a boss man shows up and starts whining about how I dont have some switches roughed like the....sorta diagram showed. Like dude, I been here 4 days and you walk in and tell me to change a bunch of crap not because its wrong or a code violation, it just dosent look like the "map". Then I walk out to smoke a cig and pull up TW and there is the post about the G8s shearing off. Which further drives me up a wall.....with any number of thoughts. This dude abused this truck so bad. I mean, down to totally fucking up driveshaft stud threads. I wasted my time, effort, energy and money for something that I now have to also redo all because some idiot cant put a nut on a stud right. THIS IS WHY YOU FINGER TIGHT EVERY NUT/BOLT YOU CAN BEFORE YOU TIGHTEN IT. And no, it didn't happen taking them off, the Ujoints have clearly been replaced and one whole stud and nut assembly was loose and flopping around, I had to get my wrench to hold a stud head that should be somewhat pressed in, like a wheel stud is. So then, I wasted money on bolts, need different bolts cause I am not going to be the "we told you so" guy. I work work my ass for a paycheck to paycheck life where I basically beg others for anything extra fun I have because I cant afford it myself. And when shit like happens it really sucks as I need to spend the $/get stuff while my wifey goes "well, dont spend anything" and all the little shit adds up. $40 for bolts. $20 for thread locker and rtv, it all adds up, not like I can buy new bolts til one of us get paid.

And I been trying to farm to save myself some $. I am the worst damn farmer ever. Trying to long with more failed and dead plants than anything worth a damn.

And damn Gid. Can ya like even say "you're a douche bag dick face who I absolutely despise" in my build thead or something?? Fuck.

We shouldn't talk like that, lol. Things will break, then we'll go "well fuuuu"

Broke stuff takes away from fun stuff.

I did drive the truck today. To/from a job about 45 minutes away. First true test of the new Lock Right. It was raining when I left. Knew it was going to rain all day, and still took the little truck. Cause, yeah, I roll like that.

All in all, even in rain and puddles it was quite tolerable. I drove like a grandma, but I never said "this was a baaaaddd idea". Moving wasn't bad at all, neither was turning. Only times it would get a little squirrelly was shifting, with a good smooth shift you barely feel it but it does give a slight oversteer reaction as you go into gear. If I let the clutch out to fast and it bucked into gear the back end would kick out a tiny bit as I made my shift. Never felt dangerous or out of control, but could lead to it if not paying full attention or driving like a arse.

    So far, so good!

    Yep.
Ran across this during some reading and I thought it was comical. Your nearer future sounds similar to mine... 6 years later lol

Pretty much. The only time I am noticing the biggest effect is shifting. Still not the best 3rd footer, so you might have a leg up there. Driving, its almost like usual, been easier on the turns, clicks, no bangs yet. When I goof up, I either let the clutch out to fast/hard or I goose the throttle a bit to much and the back end will kick out a little.

I have a silly question but I am all self learned on the manual topic. Am I supposed to let the clutch all the way out then accelerate or am I supposed to be letting out while giving some/light throttle? In trying to learn the locker, it seemed if I let the clutch out completely then gave throttle, that was working best. I seemed to avoid the kick outs that way. Idk. Someone with more experience can learn me!!
