Well with a bit of sadness we're packing up the German guests and shipping them back to Munich today. It's been a heck of a couple of weeks; one good thing about this town is that there is always something to do or see, and I didn't have to play tour guide all that much. Nevertheless, we had to have one final blowout last night, so we appropriately stormed a local place called "Smakosz," roughly Polish for "foodie." I swear they must have a couple of old-country grandmas chained up in the kitchen because this stuff is as legit as it gets. Having Okocim on tap doesn't hurt either. Classic Polish fare is often developed from basic old farmers' recipes, as these were mainly poor country folk who couldn't afford to waste any part of the animal, so you get more than a few recipes that would drive most modern snowflake-type diners out the door. Case in point, my feast last night: some good old-fashioned baked golonka, or pig's knuckle.

And oh yeah, that's with all the fat and skin... :hungry:

We brought them in once after a fire in our Greens & Grounds Dept building. The initial estimate wasn't bad. Then they started finding "hidden damage". We could have built new.

Good morning, it has started. Can't see them but hundreds of blackbirds making a racket in the woods as they move South for the winter. Seems early. But winter seems earlier every year anymore.

I am so sorry, my heart still aches from loosing mine a decade ago.

This and nice bear. Always wanted a bear skin rug with red trim to put in front of the fireplace but they are expensive. And everyone talked me out of it saying you just trip over the head in the dark. That looks nice on the wall.

Bear were considered a varmint in Wa. State in the late 70's and it was open season all year. The ones eating huckleberries up high weren't so bad. Not great but certainly edible. The ones on the streams eating dead and decaying salmon, not so much. Sometimes you could smell them before you saw them coming around a bend in the stream fishing.

    Good Morning
Another nice day before cold front brings rain.
We found out yesterday that FIL needs triple by pass. It's happening today.

@Cold Iron , sorry to hear about your black birds, I know they get loud. Black birds and swallows have been gone for a couple of weeks now.

    Old sucks.

So... had the axe-ident. Couldn’t recall last tetanus shot. Doc doped my right shoulder up with that one.

Get to pharmacy and they ask ‘flu shot is covered by your insurance, want one?’

Sure. How bad could it be?

    Into left arm in goes.

Between all the shots and the 4 antibiotic pills a day, I’m wiped out and can’t raise either arm above horizontal.

Well, I was raised on Classic Rock, early 80's Metal, and Punk Rock - I'm Latino so I also love Salsa. I think I have a pretty wide range of musical tastes, but lately I've found myself listening to Country music :anonymous:
I'm really confused, is this an over 50 thing ?

Well then you should be safe from axe-I-dents for a while . I hear you though never did both tet and flu at the same time and pretty sure I would not having had them lol . The flu shot always makes me feel like crap for a couple of days no matter which version they use.

Nothing to worry about. I listen to all the same music as you do, plus Blues music. Not to much Salsa music.
Last night at work I was watching a Buck Owens concert on YouTube. Our group leader John made a negative comment, I turn around and told him to make himself useful and get me a beer. Everyone got a good laugh out of it, except John.

For those of you with wet okole seat covers yeah if you tear up the bottom and back covers on one seat be prepared for 175 bucks for replacement. My back was sort of shredded from duty belt even though I only wore it a few times driving . The bottom yeah word to wise do not put a stainless steel pen in your back pocket and get in . When you get out and it has poked it's way out of the pocket and into the seam of the seatcover it rips a quarter sized piece out of the top .. but hey it saved the OEM seat cover so there is that .
