So... I’m still doing this little experiment called the stock calibration awaiting the SOON to release 1.05.

@OVTune another thing that is horrid on B04 is idle control. I had to take a work call from the side of the road yesterday, it was raining, but sticky and humid so I had the A/C on while idling. Had the return of that fun feeling where it feels like the truck is about to stall every time the compressor kicks in. You had addressed this in 1.04 relatively well so I’m sure it won’t be an issue with 1.05 but calling it out just in case. Note, truck also would intermittently have a single cylinder misfire when idling and the compressor kicked on.

I just hope 1.05 comes with the option to shut off the Atkinson cycle altogether and allow the engine to run Otto !

Real Men Want Otto ! :burnrubber::burnrubber: ..... and More Torque !!

If I had a leaky valve in my heart like the Atkinson engine does, I wouldn't be able to run up a hill either and someone would have me in for an operation to fix the problem !

That's why I'm here. I want RED cylinder burn, not orange.

I totally agree but would like to add one thing. I wish ECT button would enable otto only so the 3.5l feels like a real engine. I don't care about the insanely high shift points that toyota has ECT perform. That would be an awesome option if matt could pull that off.

Then we could pressure @MESO to get on the stick and make up a few hundred of his Always On ECT mods....
Hell, he could probably retire after that run !

Sorry guys, Mat has responded several times to the Otto only request - basically "you guys wouldn't like it at all".

Anyway, I hope all the preparation pays off - but he'll still get a shitload of emails/tickets after release.

Hell, ppl won't read his instructions now lol. FAQ? bahahahahaha

    You just know it ;)

Maybe he forces you to read the directions, then follows with a multiple choice test and you have to get 100% before you can proceed to downloading your tune files :)

I don’t feel that the shift points are extremely high using ECT at all. Personally I wish the transmission shifted like that all the time without having to push the button or wire in a mod to turn it on each time. I hate how even with 104r it short shifts all the time.

I'm running ShiftSense Pro V2 along with OV 87 / 1.04 with pretty good results....
However, I think there is still room for improvement

There should be a test after reading the FAQ. If you cant pass the test then no tune for you. That should save Matt a headache lol

I prefer the ECT shift points during acceleration all the time. Just don't like how it hangs in the lower gears after I get to cruising speed.

I’m finding myself using ECT more now also. I guess it’s the never ending quest for power and speed.

Not so much about speed for me but I want the truck to immediately deliver what I ask of it at that moment, accepting it's limitations. Guess it get's down to "Driveability" can we agree on that ?

My ECT is always on thanks to mesojdm. Love it with 1.04R/91.

That is what I feel 1.05 is going to be, drivability. That's at least the impression I've gotten from reading OVTune posts. It's hard for me to hear people say that 1.04 or prior has fixed the truck 95/98%, it's just not true, and I hope 1.05 teaches people that. I have high hopes for 1.05

I think we’re getting drive ability and or performance with 1.05 from what Mat has described.
