    Normally a zerk for driveshafts is 10-32 which is very close to M5-.8.

    It has to to with the inertia of the fluid (water). It doesn't like to turn corners, so it hits the sides of the tubes and runs out the drain hole. Never makes it to the filter.

    Same with dust, too.
