    My dealership has been bugging to bring my truck in for an appraisal, I guess they really want some used 2016s. I sent them a picture, since its heavily modified, and they said they were very interested.

    Has anyone made out good with something like this?? Is it a gimmick or can you actually get a good deal?

    2016 4x4 OR with 65,000 miles; heavily modified.

    Expect a gimmick, but maybe they really are on board with how good your truck looks. And it does look very good!

    Thanks. I doubt I would get what I'd need to break even with all the mods. I would expect an offer around $26K. I guess it couldn't hurt to see what I could get.

    @LadyRed

    :pccoffee: Good morning,

    I've seen it both ways. I don't have the #'s for what you have in it, but I wouldn't take less than 34k. I don't want to undervalue your awesome looking truck, lift, rims, winch, cap, and such are pricey mods. If nothing else, figure what you'll take for it then go have a little fun and see what they'll offer you. Tacoma's are hot used vehicles that draw people to the lot. Dealerships have an advantage by offering extended financing & warranties for over-priced used vehicles too.

    Good luck

    It's a sales technique. They know you have a Tacoma and want you to buy a new vehicle. My dealer ised to tell me my yaris is in high demand.

    Remember take EVERYTHING a dealer(ship) tells you. They are out to make a buck and if they want your truck and value it well, from your perspective, then they already know they can get a good return on it's resale.

    Possible they have a buyer, maybe multiples, that have specific wants and wallets that are deep enough to make them happy. Possibly, an owner, key manager, or child thereof who wants a truck built for wheelin' or mall crawlin'. Though the more likely answer is they want you to trade in so they can make more cash on the financing side, sales gimmick.

    Just installed the seat spacer mod and I can’t believe how something so simple makes such a big difference. Seating position feels a lot better on the back.
