Thinking of switching over to the 4runner

Don't really use the bed as much as I thought I would and I'm tired of being cramped in the cab. I'm 6'4" and my back was killing me by the end of a 7 hour drive.

 

Do it! I miss mine already.

 

Good idea, 4Runner will be my next vehicle. Handing down the 2nd gen to my son. No 3rd gen for me

I had a 2003 and a 2014 4Runner and loved them both.

Needed the utility of a pickup though so traded for a 2017 Tacoma TRD Offload. If/when I don't need a pickup anymore, I will definitely go back to a 4Runner . (assuming they don't F them up in the mean time.

 

Hmmm, that 1" must make a big difference (cue the "that's what she said" crowd). I'm 6'3" and have no issues - unless there are two people behind me and I'm trying to give them some space.

 

I switched from a '15 4Runner to an '18 Taco......I needed the bed, but I really miss my 4Runner.

 

It’s an SUV and if I were going that route, I’d just get an AWD Sienna Van. They have even more capacity and sleeps a family of four.

 

When I go out to the garage I always grab the t4r if its available. Much more plush than my truck and does way better in the snow. Now if we're doing other terrain, well, taco all day.

 

It's a fine vehicle. Life is short. Do it. If you end up not liking it, there will still be Tacoma's available for purchase.

I do miss the backseat room. But other than that, Tacoma is awesome for me. When I feel I'm not getting what I need from the truck, I load up the bed full of bikes and go ride. Or pile of wood and go have a campfire with the kids. Or fishing. Or kayaking.

 

Do it before they neuter it like they did the Taco!

 

How do you shift your rig again?

 

Do it! I love my runner, highly suggest you test drive to see if you like it though.

 

My wife drives our ‘16 4Runner. I liked it so much I bought my Taco. If the 4Runner were available with a manual transmission, my Taco would definitely be a 4Runner.

 

Check this thread out. I plan on making the switch if I can get a good trade in on my Tacoma. The seating position is much better for ME in the T4R.

I had an 07 and 13 Tacoma and traded my 13 for an 18 4Runner ORP and I have no regrets. The 4Runner is much more comfortable to drive and has a good amount of cargo room.
I say do it.

 

Sounds like a good way to lose a bunch of money to me. I would think your decision over fully this time before you make the switch.

T4r has higher resale value over the taco. Do it. I love mine. More often then not we take the t4r over my pro taco.
