Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

So we know that the stock tune caps the available power in normal mode. Often times at 65mph in 5th gear there isn't much extra power on hand without a downshift to 4th. But this seem to not be the case in ECT mode or 1.03. maybe limits don't apply to ECT mode.

It is true (kinda) for M/T though IMO..

Previous versions were damn close, the only real gripe I had with 1.04A 91 was knock under certain circumstances. Others don't have knock on that file.
A lot of ppl really liked 1.03A or B, but my truck stuttered.

I'm with you in the end, hoping 1.05 blows me away. Throttle throttle throttle. To be perfect, it can't be the least bit weird or inconsistent. Linear and smooth are the keys. It's a tall order, given the way this setup works.

For M/T though, perfection will require seat/dyno time with Mat at the controls.

 

Drove my girlfriends 2011 FJ to and from work today and honestly I hope 1.05 is half as good as her truck is stock. Power anytime... always in the right gear... no hesitating or rough shifting... It’s everything you want in an automatic mated to a V6.

 

hope 1.05 puts down more Torque than my Duramax.

 

better have the torque of a cummins.

If an fj got more than 15 mpg, I’d have gotten one a long time ago. Love that thing. Hate the fuel economy.

Some pretty picky people on here. I don’t see what all the fuss is about. I’ve had a #Tacoboner since 1.03 came out. Driven, street, snow, dirt, mud and have enjoyed it. 1.05 is going to be epic. My faith in Mat remains.

Correct. Option one is MPG and option two is Power.

 

How about we all stop speculating about what might be or might not be in 1.05. One has to remember that although tunes might feel less powerful

I would not be surprised to see an MPG, power, and a general tune.

That came straight from the source in a conversation so no speculation here. I would assume the MPG is the general tune. Then you will still have your Stock Tune.
